Is this movie okay for a 4-year-old? One review I saw said it had a lot of "potty humor." Is it enough to keep a 4-year-old away?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I didn't notice a lot of potty humor. We took our kids to see it on Wednesday (6 and 10) and they enjoyed it. DH and I liked it but from the previews, we really expected it to be better and more funny. Cute movie tho, I like the underlying theme of "buck the establishment, if you believe in it go for it".

I took my 6 year old and he liked it. There were some toots but nothing over the top. The one that went over my son's head was when the astronaut stood up his towel fell off and the alien said that is a funny place for an antenna.

It will help you know exactly what to expect.

I took my 8 year old and I was kind of disappointed in the potty humor. She is of the age where potty humor is HUGE and I am trying to discourage it.

Thanks for that link loydandmel, I will use it next time we go somewhere!

The 13yo thought it was "ok"
The 8 and 9yo "got" the potty humor and repeated it a couple times, until I cut them off.
The 4yo didn't catch any of the potty humor and seemed to enjoy the movie.
I really think it's the older boys like mine who are going to be a pain repeating the potty talk, your 4yo will probably be fine.
All in all, I thought it was okay. There was really only one part where my sis and I both glanced at each other with raised eyebrows. Luckily the 8 and 9 yo didn't get that part.

movies here are nearly $12, even for kids. ive decided to skip it for now. will wait until its on dvd and my nearly 5yo should be nearly 6 by then

I honestly don't remember any potty humor, LOL. Hubby and I did look at each other like "oh no they didn't!" about the antenna comment. That seemed inappropriate, but it went right over my 2 kids' heads. Hubby especially liked the end song..."stick it to the, stick it to the man". Hahahaha!

did anyone else notice the astronaut used the word "friggen" :sad2::eek:ummmm is it just me or is that a rather inappropriate word for a kids movie...which of course my nine year old who doesn't miss a trick picked up on with rather drop jawed shock:confused3

My youngest (8) caught that "friggen" since that is not acceptable here. He also got the "antennae" and gladly repeated it to his older brother and dad.
