OT: Need a car for just 4 months...what to do?

Hi,

My DD is in business co-op and just got a job for the summer. This is great except it is about a 25 min. drive from her apartment. She would only need the car for these 4 months. After that she is back in school where she is right next to the university and doesn't need a car and then her next job assignment could very well be in downtown T.O. where she wouldn't need the car.

So my question is - is there a way to rent/lease/buy a car for only 4 months?

Here in Ottawa there's a dealership or leasing company (sorry, can't remember which) that advertises that they look after connecting people who are looking to assume leases and those looking to get out of leases. They say they've got clients looking to get out of lease terms from one month to two years - it might be an option. I guess it works along these lines www.TakeMyPayments.ca (although this wasn't the company). I'm sure there's lots of leasing companies or agencies that can help out in Toronto. I suppose if it came right down to it, she could assume a longer lease than she needs and then use a company like takemypayments to unload it.

I guess we could look at that option. I'm sure there is something here (Kitchener-Waterloo) that does something like that. I appreciate your response.
