I hope a local looks at this. We are planning to stay 2 nights and 3 days in DC on our way back from WDW to Maine.

What Marriott hotels would you consider - less than $100 night. I am looking at Marriott in
Crystal City - there are 2 near Regan Int Airport and a new Courtyard on 1325 2nd Street NE Washington for 119 a night.

Or, any other suggestions?

Mods, not sure where this belongs - but please feel free to move.

thanks.

For me, the most important determining factor would be if the Marriott is close to a Metro (subway) stop. I think as long as you are close to a Metro stop, you will be fine. I would stay at any of those you mentioned. There is a stop in Crystal City, so any of those near Reagan National Airport will be fine. You might want to check what the daily parking fee at each hotel is to narrow your choices.

Metro is a very good way to get around. Parking, if you are lucky enough to find a place, in DC is expensive.

I would stick to the subway. Just get a day pass, then you can ride it to as many places as you need to for about $7 a day, each.

Crystal City would be fine. As pp said, being close to Metro is ideal. Do NOT stay at the new one on 2nd St - transitional area. You could also look and see if any are in Rosslyn (check for locations in Arlington VA).

Absolutely agree, DO NOT stay on 2nd Street.....

Crystal City would definitely be the way to go....:thumbsup2

What about Marriott Downtown Washington at Metro Center - address.
775 12th Street NW
Washington, District Of Columbia
They have a rate of 112 a night

Great place. Perfect location. Great price. I think we have a winner!

One thing...check the parking rate at the hotel. You will probably want to use the hotel lot while you are staying there, so that will factor in to the overall price...

Yeah, the parking rate is rediculously high. But, it is in a great location, i believe and we can walk to whereever we need to or take the metro.

Unless anyone has any other suggestions. Need a marriott brand to use marriott $$.

thanks. donna

We love the Crystal City Marriott. Very easy to get to the metro stop. You never leave the building.
