OT: LOST fans?

But if everyone is trying to fix the evil that's been done, how is destroying the island a good thing? Because it stops all the new timelines? If the island doesn't exist then perhaps Smoke Monster gets out into the world? That seems like a bad thing...

I like your take on the loophole. That makes sense, that only one of the candidates can kill Jacob? And Jacob said something about "free will". Many of the references in Lost are about Free Will.

So Jacob could make Richard not age because it's not real anyway, so Jacob can control the island reality, but he couldn't bring his wife back because she was "already gone"? If they're already dead on the island and the smoke monster kills them that means they're doubly dead? Maybe the smoke monster kills them so they can pass over-out of the island world and to the "afterworld".

Yeah-Just like when SM killed Ecko

But there's something about the electromagnetic radiation that's important. Because it will turn out that the candidates will be able to withstand the Electromagnetism. So was Juliet a candidate? -----I just checked and she is on the wall #58. Something about all of these that are left and shifting will have to do with the power to withstand EM???
Desmond is the key to the electromagnetism because he lived in the hatch next to the magnetism and is immune to it. So why didn't smokie just kill Desmond with his superpowers? Why send him down into the well. Does he need him to go down to the wheel and move the island or something? Even if this is a new well, it might lead to the wheel that moves the island also.

Who is Widmore in all this? Ben and Widmore=enemies so he's not on Jacob's side. Are Widmore and the MIB working together? So does that mean Desmond is on the Man in Black's side? I'm soooo confused and also rambling...

thanks roomthreeseventeen- that video was a great reminder of SM! I was just trying to remember who smokie killed. Killing the pilot in the plane was really unnecessary. But what if the residents of the temple were not so innocent? Experimenting with the powers of the fountain in evil ways. That's why he cleaned house.

Damon and Carlton have come up with the most bizarre story lines. I think they are going to completely flip the story line with a major plot twist at the end. good is really evil and evil is really good.

We better have some answers soon!:laughing::laughing::laughing: I say that at the end of every episode

This is where I get confused...Widmore was with Richard (and thus I'm assuming Jacob) for years, long before Ben was born and even came to the island. Then Ben came along and away went Widmore and Eliose. I just don't get it...

I think that's too narrow a view. Remember, Jacob never interacted with Ben. It's safe to assume that he never interacted with Charles, either. Neither of them were "with" Jacob. They were enemies for other reasons.

Remember, Charles was against Ben being part of the Hostiles camp from the beginning. He was even angrier when Alex came along, but agreed to it, begrudgingly, because Ben said it was Jacob's will (we know now that was just a story).

Eloise and Charles lived on the island for many years with Ben, and left the island separately. Eloise, of course, lived off-island with whoever Mr. Faraday was, and Charles was forced to leave when the Others found out about Penny.

That's right. I forgot about that. Ben was in awe of Locke cause Jacob spoke to him. So Ben just pretended to be the guardian and The Others (including Richard) believed him. Maybe Richard was fooled too! So Ben is a wanna be guardian and my loophole story doesn't really work. Unless it's because Jacob never really spoke to Ben. But he did inside the big foot. UGHHHH

I really need to go back to the beginning and watch all the episodes again. Hmmm...How long will that take?

Ben is a candidate or perhaps his father because LINUS was written on the wall. Also, Jacob supposedly communicated with Ben via notes and through Richard. Your loophole story does work. :thumbsup2

Either Damon or Carlton also said on their podcast once (in a "sly" fashion), "is it possible Jacob's cave was just a set-up for the MIB and Jacob crossed off names of candidates he wanted MIB to think we out of consideration?" (not word-for-word)

Since THEY brought it up - I'm wondering if there's something to it; especially with Kate: her name was on the lighthouse dial but not the cave wall.

I did a re-watch last year and it took from September-ish till January, watching a few episodes a week.

A bunch of the big LOST podcasters (Jay & Jack, and others that I can't remember) are all going to do S1-S6 re-watches after the finale. I think it's going to be fun to do it that way.

i definitely plan a rewatch from S1- S6.....
should be fun!

The way I remember it was that Jacob communicated through notes which Richard gave to the leaders...Remember in the Richard episode they explained that Richard became the middle man between Jacob and the people on the island (so I don't think many people beyond Richard have talked to Jacob). Jacob also communicated through notes between that guy who was leader of the temple.

I used to listen to Jay and Jack and I just don't have the time between all the disney ones I listen to and the 2 they had every week. Maybe I will try to catch up with Jay and Jack's podcasts from this season so I can be in the loop before the big finale. Are they going to continue their podcasts when they rewatch all of them? That would be kool.

What does Jay and Jack think? Any good theories over there?

I can't even keep up on the dedicated Lost boards. There's sooooo much information and so many people posting. I have to work sometime!

DH thinks I'm obsessed with the internet. I think I am too.

Jay and Jack think that Flocke is good and Jacob is bad or that they are one person. I don't buy it. I think things are simpler than that. I can't wait for tonight! I think due to the previews we might see Jin and Sun together finally! I still bet that Juliet will be her doctor but as always I can be wrong (usually):confused3

I was thinking the same thing when no one knew the name of the MIB. Prolly because his name is Jacob. It's Jacob's alter ego but why can Jacob leave the island and MIB can't. cause he's been bad?

This series has these two underlying themes-destiny and free will.
What if Jacob is a symbol for "free will" and MIB stands for "destiny."

Can't wait for Sun and Jin to see each other again! I love Sun, she is such a strong woman. Maybe we will see what happened to Juliette's sister too. Remember her?

I'm still bummed there's no new episode next week. :(

is that for 100% sure - that there's no new episode next week?

i don't think i can go for 2 weeks without one...

the episode last night blew my mind again.......we all seriously groaned when that "lost" appeared on the screen....on no...it's OVER??????????????????

have to wait until next week for more???????? or worse, the week after next???????????

i'm not going to make it...

So I was thinking the Final Candidate would be Desmond but after last night's episode anyone thinking that Jack will be "the one" since everyone else has left him behind? Well, I guess Sayid is left behind also. Any speculation???? I just can't go with the idea that FLocke is good and Jacob is evil. But I am sure they'll turn everything upside down somehow.

I think Jack will take Jacob's place and Desmond will be Richard Alpert. But maybe FLocke has to get a replacement so that he can leave the island? Then perhaps if MIB is good (still can't believe that is true!) then Jack takes MIB's place and Desmond is Jacob's replacement???
