I think BEN will meet Alex's mom when he is tutoring her and it will be a really nice, cleaned up DANIELLE ! That way in the alternate reality he gets his kid back

Totally agree. Any good show that I get into get's cancelled so I am afraid to watch. Thank goodness Madmen wasn't on a big network or it would have never survived.

Last night was the best episode all season!

Love, Love, Love Desmond and Sawyer! What living, breathing woman wouldn't? But my favorite episode over all the years was the Richard centric episode. It was well written and Richard (aka the actor, Nestor Carbonell) did such a great job. I watched it 3 times

I agree that the writers are doing such a fantastic job with this last season. Blows my mind every week.

My DH, DS and me are planning on watching every episode from the beginning. It's kind of like the movie -The Sixth Sense. After you see the ending you have to go back and watch the whole thing over again to get all the clues.


Can I ask something? Where did Ilana come from? And what is her back story? Why was she all beat up in the hospital when Jacob went to see her? Did I miss something?

The Ben and Danielle match up would make sense to the story line. I love that idea. Haven't seen the french woman lately. Hmmmm

No - we don't know anything else about her....but I'm guessing we will before it's all done.

Might not see much of Danielle (unless they do that match up of course), because she's dead on the island and they've used the flash backs to explain her complete back story, so there's not much story left for her.

dead on the island doesn't necessarily mean dead in sideways world...lots of examples: Locke, Charlie, Boone, Shannon, george mikovsky, Daniel Farraday, etc. etc. etc.
and of course, Alex is alive, though she was dead on the island...

WOW tonights episode was great! I wont say too much till tomorrow because of time zones and I don't want to be a spoiler. But WOW! I love the show more and more each week. So sad only 5 more episode!

All I can say is EWWWWWW to the Clair and Flocke thing....

I think it will be Saywer and Juliet.... We least expect it because we think she is dead. But I bet that she is David's mom (Jack's son) and Sawyer and her meet in a coffee shop and get together and feel that feeling that Charlie was talking about. Remember she was trying to tell Sawyer that "it worked" before she died.

Also when we last saw Sun she was shot and pregnant..... The will take her to the hospital and Juliet will be her Dr.... she is a baby dr......

All speculation and usually I am very wrong about LOST....

it seems on the glimpses of next week that they showed a claire/locke image where they were 'spliced' together........strange.

obviously Illana is not in the picture as of last night, at least not in this time frame/world.

very interesting-----loved the Hurley episode- who doesn't love Hurley? so it appears Desmond is making sure all the folks on the plane also experience that 'feeling' and find their 'match' in this alternate universe they are in- is that his 'purpose', to ensure they have a good life with their loves in this other world, whatever it may be? hitting Locke, so that Locke, too, can have a 'near death' experience?? who knows, i am always lost!

but the gossip had it that the actor playing michael refused to return and clearly that's not true...

by the way, finally saw the episode and my mind is even more blown now than before...
i liked the way ben had to explain to us why that happened to ilana...i think it was ben who gave the explanation...good thing, as i wouldn't have connected the dots....

i'm starting to bleed out of my eyes from this thing.....
i can't wait another week to keep getting more answers....

this may be a totally weird idea, but if the whole thing comes down to good vs. evil, heaven vs. hell....etc..... could that make Desmond the Archangel Michael to Jacob ? (if Jacob represents God??) It may seem far fetched, but think about it. If he looks at Locke as "the devil"....last night at the end he seemed to want to get rid of him pretty good.....
Also, Desmond seemed determined to get Libby and Hurley together so he'd remember. It's almost as if Des is the key to everything fitting in place. (and he's just the cutie to do it too !!) But the Archangel Michael is "The Prince of Light" who is "patient and kind". what is love if it's not "patient and kind" ? We'll have to see if Des gets anyone else "back together" to find love. But it seems like the forces of good and evil are priming for a battle to the end.

I have to preface this with the fact that I haven't yet seen last night's episode (drowning in tax returns here ) BUT your theory is exactly what I was thinking all along (Jacob = God, MIB = Devil). However, the DESMOND episode seemed to lean more toward the idea of alternate universes. That is: At any given moment when you are given a choice, you make a choice and the you that made the other choice lives out the life with that choice in the split second the choice is made. Heavy stuff but it seems the "choices" are going to be what the shows ends up being about-that each of our "choices" has lasting and infinite repercussions to not only ourselves but everyone around us. And if faced with choices that we can "see" the outcomes of-would you actually choose a choice that is for the better of others and not exactly good for yourself? Perhaps it will end up encompassing both the good vs evil AND the choices.

Ok, let's face it we're all just "LOST"!

Plus, haven't the creators dubunked the good vs evil theory publicly? Maybe I'm not remembering correctly but perhaps season 1 or 2 didn't they state it was not heaven vs hell?

eta: Actually I don't think they specifically debunked the idea. But people have theorized that it wouldn't be as simple as mirroring "Paradise Lost".

Since Michael said that he was stuck on the island because of what he did=it makes the island sound like limbo to me. Have all the people who have died on the island been absolved of their past sins and are now free to live their lives? The remaining ones on the island are still waiting to see if they will be absolved or punished??

As for the last scene with Desmond and Locke-Is that really Locke or Flocke?? Are we sure that the MIB took over when the body of Locke returned to the island or before that? We know that the island has healing properties but (F)Locke was shot and left for dead and yet returned. No other character has done that. Maybe Desmond is as confused as I am and just has it out for anyone who resembles Locke.

I thought this was the season of answers. I have no idea how they are going to pull this all together.
