OT:Las Vegas help...

OK OK don't shoot us, we know (and love) that this is a Disney board, but I figured that you guys are great with helping with Disney questions maybe someone could help us with a Vegas question...ok here goes.
We will be going to Vegas for our (gasp)30th birthday at the end of August. We are more then likely going for one week. We are going with our family (and our think-she-knows-it-all) cousin. We may be renting a luxury car or van for about 4 days. Here is the question...do discount codes ONLY work for Florida car rental companys? Or does anyone know if they will work in Vegas. Said cousin was getting quotes of abou $400 US for the 4 days,a nd we would LOVE to find a cheaper rental to prove her wrong (he he he--insert Disney evil laugh here!). Thanks for any help!

There are usually different discount codes for various places. You might be able to find one for LAS, but then again might not be able to. It's a town built on money, after all.

What dates are you going?

I'm a Las Vegas Specialist, so if you have any questions feel free to ask away. I was just there in February, going back in October and December.

It might take a while but you could try ALL the codes on rentalcodes.com

I went through all of them when I went to WDW and found really great rates.

When you are on a web-site for a car company it lets you put in your destination.

Also look at Mousesavers.com

They give out new codes that you can try. Sometime a week rental is cheaper than 4 days so try it out.

Hope you can prove her wrong and get a better rate (You probably will).

Imagine a few weeks ago that someone who had never been to WDW was telling me that it should not be too crowded over Christmas as most people stay home for THAT holiday

This while she was looking at my WDW pics from 3 trips in my office...Go figure...I just told her about the DIS and the Unofficial Guide and she said she did not need any more info than what the TA gave her... To each their own.

Been to Vegas a few times; never rented a cars. You could try joining a Vegas board and ask the same question.

According to Expedia, you can get a full size car for a week near the end of August for $25/day Canadian through Dollar Rent a Car. You may want to look at that option.

Where are you staying? if you are on the strip and plan just to stay on the strip you might not even need a car. My DH and I used ours only to go to Hoover Dam - it was included in our Expedia package. We are planning not to get a car the next time we go.
