OT - Kids not sleeping... EVER!! Update AGAIN!

Kids learn pretty quick that the rules are different with Grandparents. They probably will get Grandma to let them out or pick them up, but they'll learn just as quickly that when mom & dad are there it's business as usual. Don't worry too much about setting them back. They'll figure out the difference.

How's it going? Are you back to getting sleep again?

Well... My DD20m is still waking up every night and crying for a spell. We are not going in to her room though, and it ends within 5 minutes untill she finds her binkie. But she usually wakes up DD3 in the process, and we do go into her room, make sure shes OK (which we know she is) and tell her that shes not getting out. So all in all, I'd say its getting better, my only problem is that it takes me over an hour to get back to sleep after they wake me up. Then DD20m gets up between 5-6am. I'm sure one day they will truely sleep through the night..... but if that never happens, its only 22 days till our alone trip!!

:goodvibes Thanks for asking :goodvibes

Don't you loooove that? Ugh. I think the worst thing about living on the East Coast is the fact that the sun's up at 5 AM during the summer. Blech.

Every time my guys have me awake before 6 AM, I vow that when they're teenagers and looking to sleep past 7 AM, I'll be on them like white on rice. It makes me smile, lol.

sounds like you are doing everything right. After a while your dd 20m will just give up and not cry. She's just soo used to you guys coming in that she's still waiting for you to. She's starting to realize that you aren't going to, so eventually she will just give up and stay asleep.

If you think it's the binkie that keeps waking her up, you may want to try and get rid of it. Cutting cold turkey seems to work the best. You'll probably have a rough two or three days without it, but it will make your life easier in the end.
