Bob, I'm sorry to hear the news. My MIL was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. She had surgery straight away to remove her lymph node and it looks like she is now in the clear. They also caught her cancer early which was a blessing. I hope she will be OK.

Thanks everyone. It is a very small amount of cancerous cells so it should be easy to deal with. I just feel bad for Robert because I know what it's like being in his position.....

We've had a shock this evening- Robert's Mum has been diagnosed with a small amount of breast cancer.... She's having to have surgery on Christmas eve. They've caught it early so the prognosis is good.... It's still worrying though....

PLEASE DON'T POST ON MY FACEBOOK ABOUT THIS.... I know I'm friends with a lot of you on facebook, but Robert's brother is on Facebook and they aren't telling him until they see him on Sunday...

The body was found with duct tape over the mouth

Sorry to hear the news....cancer is never a nice thing to have. Hopefully she will make a full and quick recovery but it is devastating as a family to go through it.

To be honest, I haven't followed that case in great depth like you probably have but I was told by a friend who was very involved in it. Very sad. I had hoped against all odds that she would be alive and that Casey had sold her or something...

Oh that is so sad, I never expected them to find her alive though as the way the mother was, not natural it was a very strange family.

Poor girl, I can't even imagine what her last moments were like, very sad.

Thanks again everyone... Robert's calmed down a bit now. I've told him to take the day off tomorrow and we'll go out or something, take his mind off it a bit.

It's just such a horrible thing to go through.... I went through loosing a parent myself (as many of you know) to cancer, so I know it's hard. I'll look after him as best as I can...

Whats actually happened is that they've found a small amount of non-invasive cancerous cells. They've said the prognosis is really good, and the surgery should clear things up. Her surgery is going to be on Christmas eve though. She should be out in time for Christmas day though.... I'm sure she'll be fine and telling all the doctors and nurses how to do their jobs before long (She used to be a Midwife...).... I've asked if he wants to go down tomorrow or next week, but he is saying no at the moment as he thinks it will cause more stress. We're going down the day after boxing day, so will see her then. He's currently ordering her a build-a-bear with a doctors outfit to cheer her up....

I've been sat in a blooming cold ice rink since half past 6, big accident near the airport I believe on the M56 which resulted in really heavy traffic and the game being delayed by 15 minutes. Came home and the heating had gone off so the house is cold and as I'm going to bed in a moment (will be the warmest place I think) it wasn't worth putting it back on!

I'm feeling quite cold as well now. Heating's gone off but I know once I'm in bed, I'll be ok. I was like that yesterday morning though. We didn't go out at all and I was doing things round the house and I just couldn't get warm ! Think it was after lunch when I felt a bit normal lol.
