OT: Charley is coming!

DH & I live in central FL, just north of Orlando. We are starting to see the first of hurricane Charley. He is now a category 4 storm with 145 mph winds & tornado warnings. Should be an interesting night around here! Hope we come through the storm OK. If you don't see me for a while, I'm afraid we will lose power. It happens so often with lesser storms, so I'm really expecting it with this one.
I really hope with the stress & inconveniences ( I hope all we get are inconveniences!) that I can stick to plan with food & exercise. Please send some hurricane survival PD our way!

I right here with you Nancy. So is Princess Michelle. We dodged a big bad bullet by it going ashore earlier than thought.
My thoughts and prayers are with the folks in Boca Grande where it went ashore at 5pm.
My mom lives in Lk Wales they are now evacuating the mobile homes there. I am glad they live in a block home.

We escaped the worst of Charley! Never even lost power! Charley veered off & went to the south & east of us. We were really lucky in that because we are currently renting a modular home while our block construction house is being built.
Although the Orlando area was hit a lot harder than we were, based on the news reports I've been watching the parks all seem to be OK. I heard WDW opened at 10 AN & Sea World at noon. Haven't heard about Universal, though. I did see the Epcot sign on Spaceship Earth is still in place!
I've been thinking about the DISers who are at WDW now, & wondering how they are doing. I know Yasuern & her family are there. I hope they will be able to enjoy the rest of their trip. PD to them for better weather for the rest of their stay!
Thank you to all of you who sent PD our way - that must be what sent Charley on a different track than the one they originally expected so that we didn't get hit too hard here!

My dad and grandparents are there too. I called today to be sure they were fine. All is good.

Sorry I didn't see this until AFTER Charley. I live in Jacksonvlle, FL and was busy preparing for it, too. I'm glad you're safe & sound. I agree, we dodged a bullet with that one!
