i log into firefox and then try to go on chacha...
is that wrong?

JPeriod, they send emails out about the contests and then they also will post them in the announcements board on the forums. For some reason a lot of people have not been getting them judging by what I've seen on the forums. Aside from holidays I've only seen them do contests on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The guaranteed bonus was only Friday and Saturday this past week.

Cukal6, I haven't had any problems today, it's been fast and working fine for a change.

mommiesanchez, are you opening firefox in it's own browser? If you try to open it in Internet Explorer it's not going to work. You need to download the firefox program and use it to access the Universe.

Paul, I'm shocked you got up to speed so fast and answered so many this weekend! How did you do it? Were you on all the time? Or are you just that good??

Re: the $12 bonus for 120 questions...I was reading the blog and foums, looking for this info and couldn't find it. I saw it posted on particular days, but how do you know the bonus is available other days and when? Is it supposed to be every weekend? Yesterday, I just saw an announcement of contests throughout the day, but nothing about the $12. Is there a central place they post all the money-making scenarios?

There was a thread somehwere about the bonus...maybe in the Guide forum?

I was up at 6Am on Saturday, feeding the dogs and baby and got on when I finished that. The questions were constant and almost all of them asking for a joke, or having a conversation, that sort of thing. So they were very quick and easy to answer. I assume there's a backlog early in the mornings for questions recevied overnight. I wasn't on all the time, but my log showed a total of about 12 hours. And when I was on it was pretty constant. Maybe at weekends there are less guides/more questions because many guides are SAHMs and are only on during the week? I assume that's why they offer bonuses for Saturday nights. Luckily, I have no life after 9PM when my daughter gets put to bed!

I was pushing it Saturday night to try and get to the 200 for the week...I got to 197! Then I saw the thing about the bonus and stayed up and did another 60 to get to 120.

The only tip I have as a newbie is to use http://yp.yahoo.com/ for telephone numbers and addresses. That's unless it's a big chain that has store locator. Oh, and sometimes people will ask for an address and name and provide a phone number. I do a reverse look-up on www.anywho.com (AT&T site). If it's a cell nothing will come up, which most of them are.

On the pop-up for 'answer new question?' I wish there was a 'no' button that automatically set you to away when hit. I feel a little guilty leaving people hanging for a few minutes until it auto logs you out.

What do you do if you can't find the answer? I just joined over the weekend and last night was my first night on and not training and I got a couple of questions that I could not find the answers to .
Also I'm assuming that QC stands for Quality Control?? How long does it take before you get marks against you and how many can you get before they kick you out?? I know that I referenced wiki once .

Shockingly, I was approved as a guide this afternoon! But I'm sure I'm the worst guide ever since it takes me FOREVER to find/format answers. I've timed out a few times in the first 10 questions!

I always thought I was quite internet saavy and great at finding info, prior to chacha! Now I don't know! I'll never make any money at this rate! How long does it take all of you on average to answer most questions, ya think?

Also, if the underground is down, are you automatically NOT getting paid? Questions were coming in back to back this afternoon and I wondered if it was because everyone goes AWAL when the underground goes down due to no money?

You'll get faster with time. Keep some of your most used sites bookmarked and use whatever search engine you're most comfortable with. Some questions I automatically use quick links for and some I go straight to google for. Use the autoguides for certain questions, like jokes, weather, directory assistance.

It takes me 1-3 minutes to answer most questions, and if I haven't found an answer in around 7, I ask for some sort of clarification or give them a very close answer.

I tried using the format for weather but it doesn't work. I try to use the new line but when I click the button to verify the answer, it all shows up as one line. If I do get QCed for this, I will have to fight against it because it is not possible to new line.

It doesn't matter if it goes in one line. The formatting is just for us to make it look neater. Supposedly it does go through on some phones like that, and others it doesn't.

You shouldn't get a QC for that at all.

I've been staying off since it seems to be a HUGE amount of time for so little pay (since I'm so slow). Instead, I've been focusing my free time reading tips, installing ad-ons, and getting good bookmarks so that when I start again, I can hopefully be much faster (maybe by the weekend when there are incentives!). I have yet to get a silly, easy question, I wonder why...

No problems earlier today, but wow tonight was bad. I got several queries and in, I kid you not, 30 seconds or less I got a message that said I took too long. I got several of these. Very frustrating. I hope I'm not penalized either.

This isn't something you have to worry about on the SIM test. Once we start answering real queries, sometimes the answers don't fit in 130 characters, so we can type what will fit and then put "MORE." After that, the customer can choose to reply with the MORE and the next guide can follow up with the rest of the answer.

I'm supposed to be doing by 10 simulator questions, and I've done eight of them. Once I hit ten, should I stop until I hear from them? Also, I can't access the underground to set up my payment options. Is it always like that? Everything is loading really slowly, etc.

By the way, are the simulator questions just question from real users, only you don't get paid for them? It seems so real because there is no real regularity to the timing between the questions. You would think a test would be more regulated, right?

Sorry, I obviously missed something in the training manual about this test!

Thanks! I've been with ChaCha for about 2 months (first day or two of July) and I've made about $1200.

The underground wasn't work for me earlier, but it is now. There is always a glitch of some kind over there.
