How very exciting and congratulations!
My only daughter just turned 17 this past weekend. I had always wanted a daughter and really thought when I was pregnant with her that I was having another boy (which would not have been disappointing at all). I had a C-section and I to this day can hear the doctor saying the baby is out and it's "a girl!" Honestly--I did not believe him! I thought--okay, you are on heavy drugs, it's just the morphine messing with you! LOL!!! They all kept telling me over and over again and it never sunk in. I got to hold her for the first time about six hours after she was born. I was alone at the time and immediately starting pulling open the diaper. My Husband walked in and asked what I was doing. I told him quite simply--I need to really make sure she is a girl!!!
I would have been happy either way but there is nothing more special than the love between a Mother and a Daughter. I hope you have a very healthy little girl and I wish you much happiness as you watch her grow. May she bring sunshine into your live each and every day.
