OT Beef Roast expiry question

Hi
I just pulled a small beef roast out of the freezer,,expiry date April 2016....but can I still cook and eat it as it was frozen?. Sorry if this seems like a silly question but I have limited experience with this.
I would hate to throw it out if it's useable.

If once you originally bought it, you put it straight in the freezer and it stayed wrapped...yes, you can totally eat it. Once you defrost it, you'll want to cook it within 24 hours (48 at the max), so don't pull it out until the day (or night before) you want to make it.

For future reference, the minimum time an uncooked beef roast should stay good frozen is 4 months, but most last for up to a year without losing flavor or having other issues...

I will even start cooking mine frozen. I just cook it a bit longer Either in the oven or the crockpot.

Yes. That's not an 'expiration date' its a 'sell by' date. And even if it's not frozen its good for a few days past that date. Once you freeze it, it's safe for 4-12 months.
