Just arrange to have Molly Maid start cleaning my house next week and then bi-weekly. Since I did this, I've had a few people say things like "Oh, my friend had them and it was a different set of cleaners coming through her house each time so she cancelled" and "I know of two different people who had something stolen when they hired Molly Maid"

Can anyone help eliminate my fears that I made a wrong decision or tell me to cancel before they come?!

Thanks!

I've never used Molly Maid but my aunt used to own the Nova Scotia franchise and my parents used them for years without incident. They are fully bonded so if something was to go missing you would get your money back.

Yeah, but proving it would be a hassle!!

I can not comment about other locations, but the ones here suck.
One of my mom's tenants used them to clean after she moved out of her unit. Mom went in after and couldn't tell the difference.

We tried them but it all depended who came to clean, sometimes it was fine but others not well done at all. Since there is so much staff turnover, you can't be guaranteed the same people each time...

Personally I would suggest going with a self-employed person instead. That way you get the same cleaner each time, and you get to know her! Less likely for there to be theft when it's her own business.

I used Molly Maid years ago. I was at work when they came, but it seemed as though there were different people cleaning the house. One issue I did have a problem with was that the cleaners decided to clean behind my stove--unfortunately they did not notify me in advance, or I would have told them not to move the stove. We had old electrical wiring in our house at the time, and the cleaner moved the stove out and got a shock. I moved to an independent cleaning lady afterwards.

I have used them a couple of times for "deep cleans", move-in/move-out, or "OhmygawitsChristmasandthehouseisadisaster" cleans. Have been pleased with those, though it's expensive. Long-term I've always had an independent, so I know who's coming, and so she knows what I want. It can be hard finding someone like that, though last time I had good luck on kijiji. (But I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check references. You just can't skip that with someone who will have your house key or your door code, you know?) But you've made the booking. Give it a couple of months and see how you feel about it. Each franchise is different, and if you felt good about the arrangement, give it a chance.

I'm thinking of doing this but unsure of costs. Can anyone tell me approx what the costs are like. If it I dependent on what u want done I really only want for dusting, cleaning the floors & windows and I need the walls to have a good cleaning.

My experience was different cleaners each time and quality of clean depended on who I happened to get that time. I ended up switching to an independent for the consistency. My first clean by them was a gift from my baby shower (awesome gift) and was really good. It was the biweekly cleans that weren't that great. Hope it works out for you.

Note that if you start using a cleaning service, you should contact your home insurance and make sure your policy covers an outservant.

As far as costs, I would think it depends on your location and whether you go independent or company. We pay about $20/hour for a couple of local ladies.

My parents have used them twice a week for years without any incident. Their only issue was at one point they refused to even set foot in my teenage brothers room.. and really I can't blame them:rotfl2:

We use them every other week. It's around 100 bucks per clean. Always the same two ladies. I was told to be careful of independents if they are not insured by wsib then you COULD be liable if they get hurt. Not sure how true it is but I won't take the chance to save a few bucks. Just my opinion

I have used molly maid and disliked the fact that every time was someone different, I found someone who ran her own business and she's been amazing.
