Does anyone know a good place to order adoption announcements? Our adoption for our current foster daughter should go through soon. Thanks! :earsboy:

Congrats!! I do not know where to get adoption announcements - but I am adopted and just think it is great when people put in the time and effort it takes to complete an adoption in this day and time!! :goodvibes

I searched Google for adoption announcements. There were a few neat ones!

Congrats!

Thanks for your comments. We are lucky to have such a wonderful little angel!

Congratulations!!!!!!
We're in the process of finalizing the adoption of our 5 yr old foster son. I hope it goes quick and smooth for you.

I've looked at several websites and haven't found any I like, so I think I will be making ours since I like to scrapbook...right now, my idea is to reduce and color copy an awesome painting ds did in preschool of his hands for the outside and kind of alter an adoption poem to fit the circumstances (his age, our 3 yr long wait, etc.) or write something from scratch for the inside.

Sorry, I'm not much help, but I did find a great website for books on adoption
http://www.tapestrybooks.com/

Have fun celebrating, are you going to Disney? We'll have the car packed and ready...just as soon as the judge puts down the gavel and I swear, I'm not going to take off my Mickey Mom ears the whole time we're there! LOL!

Hugs and Congrats!

Snoopymom - Yes, we are going to Disney to celebrate, though it looks like the adoption won't go through before we leave (on 9/9). Originally they said all would be finalized by August, but now with people on vacation, red tape, etc., we're looking at Sept/Oct. for finalization. I guess our whole process has been relatively quick though. She arrived the day after Christmas and TPR was done in April. so when all is said and done the whole process will have taken less than a year. Now we're working on trying to look for another adoptable toddler (DD is 2)!

Congrats on your adoption also! I hope you have a great time in Disney with your son. Keep those Mickey Mom ears on!

I just ordered birth announcements for my sister, who had her first baby in May. My other sister also has only one child, and I also ordered her announcements. That was my gift to them, order, handle and mail out all the birth announcements.

Anyway, I used, LOVED, and highly recommend www.naptimecards.com
You can create your own announcements, with or without picture, color, black and white, add embelishments, etc. I noticed the wording for an adoption announcement on their site also. http://www.naptimecards.com/xq/asp/ProductId.948/qx/products.htm

You can click on the announcement to see it enlarged.

You can design your own card and not necessarily make it too babyish. I found this site with a google search and was very happy with the results.

Congratulations on your new addition!

HI CONGRATS to you and your family! I made our own adoption announcements when we adopted ds last year. I know there are several places online, but I had plenty of time waiting to go ahead and make them when we were matched with our birthmom.
Good Luck with all the paperwork! It took about 6 months for all our paperwork to be completed. Enjoy your Disney trip. That is a great place to celebrate! :)

Congradulations on your adoption. We have just begun the process of looking into adopting through our social services and older toddler daughter to give not 1 but 2 dd to take to disney.

I'm so happy for you. Ds was two when he came to us and boy what a fun, exciting, scarry and challenging age, LOL. We'd love to adopt another toddler, but the bureacracy is just too much for us. TPR was more than a year ago and we've had nothing but senseless postponements every step of the way. I can't complain though, ds is an amazing well adjusted little guy, the light of our life, and I think we'll be final by the end of the year. Good luck!

Congratulations!! Just wanted to pass along that I make announcements and would be happy to tailor them for your upcoming adoption. My website is www.tentinyfingers.com -

The site is currently down for the next 24 hours, but will be back up tomorrow.

Congrats to everyone!!! our adoption will be finalized in September of this year and i didn't even know adoption announcements existed! thanks a bunch for this great idea!! What exactly would you word them with? Thank you thank you!

From one adoptive mom to another, congratulations!!! Here's to a lifetime of joy with your new family member.

I just made some for my Sister yesterday! She is getting two under 1 later this year (virtual twins). We used the "You grew in my heart, not under it" line but changed it to 'they'

We included their names, ages, actual birthdays, and adoption day (still need to add that when it happens, any day now!). Very cute and fun to make. I can't wait to see my niece and nephew, any day now for the girl and about 10 more weeks for the boy. They are from Guatamala so I have not been able to see them yet, but have seen 100's of pictures as my sister has been to visit them several times already.

Her adoption has caused me to get bit by the adoption bug. Only I would want an older child (not a baby) because there seem to be so many waiting for families. I think in a few years we will pursue it because it has been almost a year since we first talked about it and I still think about it every day.

Congratulations! I have 5 children. One is my biological child, three are adopted (through fostercare) and one is waiting for a date to finalize his adoption. Children are such great blessings. Adoption is just another way to receive your blessing.

And from another adoptive mom, too! Congratulations!

We're waiting on the finalization of the 2nd of 3 adoptions for our family. We're going to Disney next March to celebrate the addition of these 2 wonderful boys to our famiy. Since February we've gained 2 new sons bringing our total of boys to 4, with the youngest 3 being 7½, 7 and 6! (The 7 year old is our bio child).

Congratulations!! We are so excited for you. Our son is adopted and I never found any that I liked so I made them. This was printed using the computer in blue script on velum and then layerd over a black and white photo of him and scalopped card stock behind, the layers were then attatched together at the top with a blue ribbon:

Elijah Joel

Was born November 7, 2001
Weighing 7pounds 15ounces
And came home to join our family
November 7, 2001

We would like to thank all of our family and friends for their prayers and support on our journey to become parents. We are so blessed.

Christopher and Jennifer

Our last names were included too and we also listed proud grandparents on the bottom for family members or friends who only knew my parents last names. We chose not to send them out until after the TPR was over and past it revocation period, but we did send them before the finalization was done. Congratulations again. What a wonderful time.

This is an old photo but he is just so cute I had to share, he is 3 now.

Wow! It's great to see so many adoptive parents on the boards. Boy, I never realized how many other foster parents adopt as well. What a nice community!

Thanks for all of your ideas on the announcements. I'm going to shop around a bit before deciding, but I don't want to have them made up until we get our court date (so we can put that on the announcements as well). We can't wait to take DD to WDW to celebrate! :earsboy:
