Osbourne Lights at HS- Must see??

It is one of the most memorable experiences at WDW. Not to be missed if you are even vaguely a fan of the Christmas season.

I won't exactly be the lone dissenter because I do think you should see them.

However, I come forth to present a small caveat.

We went to the see them over Thanksgiving week of 2011 and I will tell you that I have never in my life felt more like a herded animal than there. As we stumbled through the crowd, shoulder to shoulder with our fellow park-goers, strollers ramming our legs and ankles, focused entirely on not losing our daughter in the stampede, I thought back to the magical vision I had in my head when I anticipated what it would be like. The experience did not match my vision.

The lights were beautiful, but the horrific crowds really put a damper on our experience.

That being said, my husband, who is not a very big Disney fan and who complained and mooed his way through the masses that night, just said to me that he would like to go back to Disney World at Christmas to see those lights. So it obviously struck a chord with him.

Hopefully since you are going before Thanksgiving week you won't have to deal with such heavy crowds.

Another vote for them as a must-see! I could have hung out watching the lights and listening to the songs for hours. It transforms the Streets of America.

Excited to hear that they might be up as early as Nov 7th or so! I'm doing the last weekend of F&W this year plus a few days afterward and would love to catch them before I go home.

I hate when this rumor gets repeated. It has no basis in fact.

Rumours are bound to be repeated if they concern people. This rumour, in my case, was heard from a friend who works at Animal Kingdom, so even park employees are discussing the possibility, so while there might not be any confirmation of the lights being removed, it is still concerning for those of us who really want them to be there when we visit.

Rumours are never based in fact, it's why they're rumours.

Yeah, this is exactly how I felt last year when we were there. But, it was a weekend, and an especially crowded one at that because it was such beautiful weather. Before that, it wasn't quite as bad... at least not that I recall.

Definitely beautiful lights though! :thumbsup2

Do they have the lights every night? Studios is closing at 6 on two days I go in November. Would they still have them those nights?

I absolutely loved it! Rearranged my last day so I could end at HS and see the lights one last time. Saw them my.first and last day there and both nights when they played Feliz Navidad, lots of people would start dancing in the streets. Very cool and kinda made me tear up a little b/c I was so happy. Corny I know, but I loved it!

How true is this? My son was 2 when we saw the Osborne lights. I had him on my shoulders, and he was grinning ear to ear. When Feliz Navidad came on, He bent over so his face was in mine, and said, "Daddy, I gotta dance!"

Another vote for "Must See". Disney does Christmas right.

I wouldn't expect to be able to see them on nights when the park is scheduled to close at 6 since they turn on at about 6, but otherwise, they run every night.
