I am in Disney World right now, and only here until Wednesday afternoon. The Osborne Lights aren't scheduled to open until the 28th, but I know that sometimes they have soft openings. I tried calling 407-WDW-INFO, as suggested by a poster in another thread, and they didn't know ANYTHING. I tried twice, and both times they had never heard of soft openings, opening early, or any way to check.

I figured the folks here on the Dis would know best. Has anyone experienced a soft opening this year? Has anyone heard any rumors of soft openings before Thanksgiving?

Please tell...

My friend is down there now and is hoping they'll start before Friday...I'll be keeping an ear out for her. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is my last chance, so I will post if I have any luck. I went to Guest Services at Epcot today, and they told me that only the folks at Hollywood Studios would know day-of, and so I guess I will be keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow night...

Why are they so late this year? We went Nov 10th thru 19th last year and
got to see The Lights on Nov 13

Disney decided to start them along with the Epcot Christmas events.

That's as much as we know.

Anyone whom claims it is because of "saving electricity" doesn't understand
how little the lights use compared with operating the other major attractions.

(Or the parking lot lights, for that matter.)
