Osama Bin Laden cites the media!

Please don't bore me with more polls. Like I said, we've been hearing about this voter revolt for years now, but the Repuplicans keep winning.

As long as Dean, Pelosi, and Hillary keep throwing out read meat to the far left, and alienating the swing voters -- the Republicans will stay in power.

Frankly, the DEMS have just become the "no" party with no ideas or solutions of their own, except for their "patriotic" cut-and-run, surrender to the terrorists, loud mouths.

How much "power" does Delay have right now? Ney? Cunningham? Libby?

I noticed Bu$h quit on his SS reform. What about that Gay marriage amendment he was pimping during the campaign?

Bu$h is the one that said OBL didn't matter. Sounds like a white flag to me. I'd prefer to see OBL dead but Bu$h seems to have another agenda. Guess payback for 9/11 isn't all that much a priority for the Neo-cons.

Don't flatter yourself. Other Bush bashers on the DIS have used the $ long before you. Just shows you are biased no matter what he does.

Biased against Bu$h is a bad thing? Hmmm I'd be with the majority on that one Joe.

I was worried you might have pulled a muscle patting yourself on the back.

Whew..glad you're ok!

In that case - nope. Didn't hurt myself one bit. I'll pat myself on the back for supporting the troops the way I do anytime I want. I'm damn proud of my job and I'm damn proud of the troops. Want to hear some more back pattin?? I just sent entire unit an ebox system and tons of games  Isn't that awesome Judge??? By the end of February - I'll have hundreds of girl scout cookies to send over too - :cool1: Isn't that good news!?!??! Oh wait - I forgot who I was talking too - you wouldn't know good news if it jumped up and bit you in your nose.

Thanks for your nice little personal attack though. They used to upset me coming from you and a few others - but now I just consider the source.

Have a BEAUTIFUL day Judge :sunny:

Just to bust another logical inconsistency, a lack of support for a particular war does not equate to a lack of support for troops.

How obnoxiously rude.

You just sit back and enjoy your freedom as our young men and women risk their lives for it everyday. Hope it feels good to attack someone who *IS* supporting the people protecting your freedom.

Totally gross.

Cathryn, just to play devils advocate, do you believe that in order to support troops in their mission you must in turn support the morality of the mission?

My answer - no.

But is become quite clear that many non-supporters of the war, are also non-supporters of the troops (or anyone dedicating time and effoty to them)

I hate to see, no matter where you stand on the war, these young people come home to a reception like Vietnam - and called 'liars' on top of it.

It's not only "young" men and women over there. I know many people in Iraq who are in their 30's- 40's, and even one man in his 50's. I totally support them. Just because I am not on here tooting my own horn doesn't mean I do not. Just because I don't agree with the mission doesn't mean I do not support the troops.

People who claim that not supporting the war equals not supporting the troops seem to do so out of lack of anything more creative and enlightened to say.

People who are in favor of blindly supporting any mission the government sends our military on because they believe that to do anything else isn't supporting the troops are, as you put it so eloquently, "gross".

Well, since in your post you only mentioned "young" men and women, it seemed that perhaps you weren't aware.

You're welcome. :teeth:

ok just butting my head in here to say -

do you guys EVER sleep....
weren't you all debating this last night when I went to bed...

sohow about we just agree to disagree...
everyone has the right to their own opinions wether the rest of us like it or not!

maybe you could talk about something different - like what if they reinstate the draft???

Cathryn, please, that statement is the equivilant of saying, " I know you are, but what am I?"

As would anyone with a conscience. The way Vietnam veterens were treated, and still are, is shameful.

No! Not the draft!

No rest for the wicked, Patty. :love2:

OK, gotcha. I agree that many non-supporters of the war do shovel blame onto the soldiers and that this is unfair.

Since Patty is correct, and there is about zero chance of anyone's minds being changed in this thread, a thread about how a repeat of post- Vietnam treatment of the troops can be avoided may be more productive.

I will say that I rarely see anyone blaming the troops personally. What I see is that even the staunchest of those opposing the war do not blame the troops.
I don't think anyone is looking for a repeat how horribly the troops returning from Vietnam were treated. Frankly, I don't believe it would be tolerated. Hindsight being 20/20, and all that jazz.

Judge - first let me tell you that when I say *I* - I'm refering to LOTS of people in PA. Girlscouts, boyscouts, schools, etc. I'm the organizer and shipping person. I'm simply the director. I'm ALWAYS giving recognition to those who are helping (search my many previous posts if you'd like). You're just to blind to see or acknowledge it. As for your quotes - 2 can play that game Judge.
