Osama Bin Laden cites the media!

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Everytime someone posts something you don't like you pop back in with sarcastic remarks, yet you have no problems being critical of others who do the same thing..

Pot/Kettle???

agree that many non-supporters of the war do shovel blame onto the soldiers

I completely disagree. In fact, I've never encountered anyone either irl or on these boards who blames the soldiers for this war. What I do see and run into are people who can't accept the fact that you can despise this war and the man who is responsible for it (Shrub), yet respect and support the men and women who have to fight it.

How many times have we heard that if you don't support the President and the war, you're somehow UnAmerican, aiding the enemy...etc?? Hell, we've heard it from some of the very people posting on this thread.

Funny, Bush wants to keep wire tapping and the Republicans want to shut up the media. Osama appears and threatens that there are impending attacks on the U.S., thus justifying the wire-taps and says the media is helping his cause.

Are you sure Bin Laden isn't a Republican? He plays right into their hands. Maybe he's just an idiot, in which case we have nothing to fear.

Again, I'm not afraid of Bin Laden, the Boogeyman, or the Bird Flu.

Think about it: "You Americans don't want war, which is why we hate you" versus "You Americans bring death and destruction, which is why we hate you".

Osama bin Laden would hate Americans whether there was a war or not.

I completely agree. I believe the response to supporting the troops, despite their mission, has been tremendous. The general public supports the troops doing their jobs.

Now if we can all agree to support Veterans better when they require health care later in life we'd be all set.

Judge - first let me tell you that when I say *I* - I'm refering to LOTS of people in PA. Girlscouts, boyscouts, schools, etc. I'm the organizer and shipping person. I'm simply the director. I'm ALWAYS giving recognition to those who are helping (search my many previous posts if you'd like). You're just to blind to see or acknowledge it. As for your quotes - 2 can play that game Judge.

If pointing out that you need a lesson in humility is considered rude so be it. You make many assumptions that amuse me greatly... foolishly making claims and presuming the moral high ground. You both think much too highly of yourselves. Your posts are not about the troops but rather a platform to impress upon others how rightous you and the republicans are and how the democrats are nothing better then terrorist lovers hell bent on the destruction of the country. You are, as usual, wrong. There are thousands of people that organize relief efforts for our troops (including this poster) that do not parade that fact on a CB everytime they draw a breath. The greatest support one can render to our troops would be to get them home now before they come home in a metal shipping container. That's a lot more supportive then sending them a box of Lorna Doones.

How obnoxiously rude.

You just sit back and enjoy your freedom as our young men and women risk their lives for it everyday. Hope it feels good to attack someone who *IS* supporting the people protecting your freedom.

Totally gross.

You know nothing about me...you make assumptions that could backfire.

Look before you leap.

Am I an inked up college student?

Am I a single mother living in New Orleans?

Am I a disabled veteran?

Am I a Muslim, Christian or a Jew?

Very well said! I am going to step back and take a moment of humility as well here. My hubby and I do NOT buy each other xmas presents. Why? Because we can afford to get what we want all year and it's completely unneccessary for us to get more than we need to survive. We DO on the other hand, adopt families through 1) the salvation army 2) the local VFW which I am a member (I have membership due to my father's service in WW2) and they are able to provide us with needy families that we can support.

Do I announce my 'contribution' to the troops and their families normally? NO. Anyone who says 'I send packages to so and so' is doing nothing but boosting their own lack of self esteem. I'm glad that transparent is able to fulfill her lack of social justification by sending packages over seas. Any psychologist will tell you that their moral justification is doing nothing but boost their self esteem. Unfortunately, the "self" concept comes from within, not from the people that say you are doing something right or wrong. I feel sorry for the people that must justify their actions, as they are not ok with their self.

I support our troops (not the ones that signed up just to go kill innocent people) that were in the military prior to this ridiculous war. If people thinking my lack of support or sympathy for anyone who signed up to go fight this war and then dies is not justified, so be it. I refuse to accept the fact that people are getting killed for the president and his cohorts to profit.

My answer - no.

But is become quite clear that many non-supporters of the war, are also non-supporters of the troops (or anyone dedicating time and effoty to them)

I hate to see, no matter where you stand on the war, these young people come home to a reception like Vietnam - and called 'liars' on top of it.

I don't consider being in Iraq actually "defending my freedom," as Iraq was no threat to that freedom, but the men and women who sign up don't choose where to go, and wanting to bring them home from an unjust and senseless "war" in Iraq is offering them the greatest support, IMO. In that sense, and others, like hiring just returned vets for my tree service and helping a friend in Church with her kids while her husband was deployed, I do support our troops.

It's nice that Transparent is doing something. It's better than a car magnet, that's for sure.

While I don't support the war, I would bet that most people who sign up do so to get away from home and earn some money and independence. That's why there is such heavy recruiting in economically depressed areas. If the Bush "faithful" want to sign up, I encourage them to do so. At least they are not willing to risk the lives of the poor for their political beliefs.

I did it because,I was young ,idealistic and really did want to serve my country. I also joined in 88 when there were a lot of peacekeeping mssions going on and I thought I might actually help someone .I did want the chance to travel, that was a big part of it, but I really wated to serve my country ad have the honor of being a US Marine. I was this close to going to nand Turkey on peacekeeping missions, but they weren't too keen on sending women in my commad

My sister signed up to pay for school, but because of her specialty, she hasn't been deployed to a combat area.

EXCELLENT point...these poor kids are let do believe that they will get a college education, yet, they are sent overseas...

Your point is very valid and taken to heart!!!!! It's just sad that they have to risk it all to get ahead and go to college. I can't figure out why we can't spend the (is it a million dollars per day??) that we are spending on the war to further education...education projects are cut daily (except for Bush's 'no child left behind, so we will cut funding to poor and needy places")

That program is a joke..

Is there happy hour in Iraq? I'm sure that would be a stipulation. I don't think any of the Bush's children have joined the military. Have they?

I don't know,I've seen more drinking while I was in the military than I have anywhere else. They would fit right in :rotfl2:

If you think my giving recognition to little kids and other generous people who support our troops - and my announcing on certain threads the generous donations that some people have given to my org. is "lack of social justification" - you've got some serious issues of your own.

For those of you who have a problem with the good things I have shared over the past few months - Like I said before - I just consider the source now. :rolleyes2 Trust me - you aren't upsetting me or angering me by your childish name calling.

For those of you who enjoy reading about these good things - THANKS! :thumbsup2 I'll keep sharing with all of you :sunny:
