The Disney Cross Country Classic at WWoS has been cancelled. Our team was scheduled to fly down tomorrow but the trip has now been cancelled. Ten years in the planning :-(

Although I think they're absolutely stupid for doing this, Universal is going to wait for Disney to make the first move in widespread closures of the parks.

Which really does suck for the team members waiting in limbo.

I don't know if they'll announce a closure tonight. My guess is they will wait until early morning tomorrow to announce a Friday closure. Maybe even an early close on tomorrow. Disney doesn't want to announce anything too soon.

Agreed. I think the first announcement we'll see is the cancelling of the party, even before a general early closing of the park.

I am at WDW now and inquired both at the resort concierge and Magic Kingdom and was informed at both places no refunds for Friday nights Halloween party will be given until they announce that they will not hold the party.

I witnessed it myself this morning at POR, we flew out this afternoon

This may be a crazy question, but what will they do to keep the animals safe (e.g. Giraffes, zebras, etc.) in the parks and at Animal Kingdom Lodge? Those are my most favorite and tranquil places in the world because of the animals and I know that Disney staff love them too...

Yes rideout crews have been activated, I received my call this afternoon to report for my 72hr shift tomorrow. Unfortunately I'm vacationing in my home town of California, let's just say they weren't to happy...

We are watching. Checkout is Friday in middle of storm. They've started putting some things away and prepping. Did talk to one resort ride out but he had no guest information - just that he was there for the duration.

If resorts are full they will move to cots in convention space to keep people sheltered. No word on if resorts are deemed full yet.

Yes. They move the giraffes into the enormous lobby of Animal Kingdom Lodge.

That post is inaccurate. I have now inquired in 4 separate locations and was told no refunds will be granted until they announce the closure or cancellation of the party.

Additionally, what sense would it make to close one water park due to the weather, but not the other? There may be a different reason that BB is closed...

Both are closed according to a previous post of mine.

You might want to keep checking on the refunds of the party. I've heard people even on the disboards that have said they have gotten a refund.

I was able to make a 3:40 p.m. tee time at the Magnolia Course for tomorrow, so ... the golf courses are still booking tee times.

Cast members are saying they're being moved to 'hurricane hours' tomorrow. Magic Kingdom is packed tonight with cast members and locals since all the schools have been cancelled.
