Orange chicken in china!!!

On the Cooking Board here on the DIS is a Disney Recipe Thread with over 1800 Disney Recipes (Index), and post #2112 on page 141 contains a recipe for Orange Chicken from China at Epcot.




Just thought I’d share.

That would be the recipe I use at home. It's a tempura battered chicken with a sweet and sour sauce with the orange zest (I zest, don't like the pith) added.

Honestly, my favorite is the Beef Noodle Soup Bowl. It's thick chinese noodles in broth with pieces of beef and some chinese cabbage or bok choy...something leafy. It''s pretty good as far as CS goes.

I am a huge Orange Chicken fan. It sounds from all the PPs that I'm going to have to try it the next time I'm at EPCOT. Now I know what my first ADR has to be. Thanks guys!

You don't need an ADR. The orange chicken is at Lotus Blossom, the counter service place in China.

If you do eat at Nine Dragons (table service), my dd LOVES the honey sesame chicken there, but I think the orange chicken at Lotus Blossom is her favorite.

Is there just such a thing as orange sauce to buy at grocery store like there is a General Tsau? My husband loves the orange chicken and asked if I cvould make it at home just last
Sunday when we were in EPCOT. LOL I figured I would just get a bottle and pour it on some chicken strips without putting any breading on it and make it sort of a stir fry type meal like I do with General Tsau and Sesame Sauce?

Does anyone else love the Orange Chicken in China????? It's my favorite thing to eat at the WS. My family and i LOVE IT!!!! never see it mentioned on here so just wondering if there are any other orange chicken lovers out there!!!

I love it and go eat there a few times each month. I think it's a bargain.

I enjoy the orange chicken as well. It is one of my favorite meals in World Showcase, coming in very closely behind the fish and chips from Yorkshire County Fish Shop.

I live in the "real" Yorkshire here in the UK. You can't swing a cat without hitting 8 fish and chip shops, lol.

DS22 always gets the Orange Chicken and swears it is the BEST. I always eat at Morocco and cannot give up the Shawarma Platter at Tangerine Cafe' so I have never tried it. So in 3 days I will be at Epcot and convinced my hubby to get the the Platter from TC so I can get Orange Chicken. Have been looking at images of it for three days and my mouth waters every time!

I love the orange chicken there! Lotus Blossom is a must-do for us on every trip! I actually just had dinner there two weeks ago!

I like this as the Beef Rice Bowl version, where they put the beef and veggies over white rice instead of the noodle broth. I get it several times while I'm visiting WDW. I usually bring some cayenne pepper with me to give it a little zing as well.

The orange chicken was OK, but a little too saucy for me. I'm not a big fan of sweet sauces so I prefer sauce on the side for something like that.

I love th orange chicken in china, have you tried to honey chicken in animal kingdom at the yak and yeti bet you would love that. that is one of my favoriate foods in the parks.

The honey sesame chicken at Nine Dragons (China Pavilion @ Epcot) is soooooo good. It is crispy and yummy! A must every trip!!!
