hi we are new to Dvc and planning our first trip. Would a 1 bedroom be big enough for hubby and I, plus DD7? Do you think two bedrooms would be better/or is the sleeper sofa good/comfortable enough for a 7 year old or even an adult (or two)? We are looking at BLT. TIA!

I think it all depends on how many points you want to use, and/or how much space you want. If it were me, I would get a studio if it were just the two of us and one little kid. Instead of more space, I'd go for more time!!

I think the BLT 1 bedrooms are enough for 2 adults and a child. The sleeper chair in the living room is quite comfortable and you get 2 baths. The queen sized sofa bed is comfortable, too.

I think 1 bedroom would be more than enough space for the 3 of you--esp. since points at BLT are higher than other resorts. My kids (13 & 8) have slept on the sleeper sofas at nearly every DVC resort (including BLT) and have never complained.

I would agree that the 1 bd would work well with a 7 year old. You get the privacy of having your own bedroom so if you have the points go for it. My sister slept on the pull out sofa and thought it was fine and her teenage daughter slept on the sleeper chair and thought it was fine too.

Our son was four when we bought and he is now 17. We usually get a one bedroom. He sleeps in the living room and gets up when we get up to go to the park.

DH, DD 14 and I stayed in a 1 bedroom at BLT this summer and it was plenty big for the 3 of us.

My DD slept in the sleeper chair and loved it, even though she could have had the pull out sofa. She said it was very comfortable.

What makes a 1br nice at BLT (and Kidani) is the separate bathroom. Whoever sleeps in the living room will have 2 hide-a-beds and their own bathroom. A couple words of caution:

1. The bathroom in the living room/hall did not have a lock or really a closing mechanism (it's a sliding door), so it isn't quite private.

2. There is really no table space near the folding beds to put glasses, clocks, etc.

3. There wasnt much closet space. I kept my suitcase in the bathroom.

The folding beds were comfortable and I'm a pretty big customer . . .

A 1 bedroom at BLT (or at any of the other DVC resorts, for that matter) is more than enough room for a couple and a child.

The bedroom has a king sized bed for the couple, and in the BLT villas, your daughter will have her choice - either the queen sized sleep sofa or the twin sized sleep chair. Both are good choices as far as comfort goes. As others have mentioned, there are two bathrooms in the 1 bedroom BLT villas, plus a fully equipped kitchen with dining table and a good sized living room. You'll also have a stacked washer & dryer in a closet and a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. That bathroom also has a separate shower.

IMO, a 2 bedroom would be overkill for 2 adults and a child.

Enjoy the trip!

a one bedroom is more then enough room and the pull out sofa is very comfertable, another thing would be saftey issue unless you were able to get a dedicated 2bdrm the adjoining studio would have its own entrance to the hallway and sometimes children like to explore and see what behind all those doors.

I agree with the others, a 1-bedroom has worked out very well for my family of 3.

yes a 1 BR is plenty of space..but we like a studio so we can go for more days:thumbsup2 We have two girls aged 4 and 6. Someday when I can buy more points, I would like to do more 1BR..hubby will still prefer studios;)

A 1 BEDROOM would be plenty. We have had 5 people in a 1 bedroom and we were perfectly comfortable.

We are going this December with 6 people in a 2 bedroom.
