I have some really far away pics of him on my phone, I just have to download them this afternoon when I"m home from work. I was so tired when I got home last night that it was the last thing on my mind!
What a day! It was so much FUN! We were at the 2nd taping, so had some lunch at Circular Quay then went around to line up on Macquarie St. The wait itself may have been long (we lined up about 12:10 and they didn't officially start moving people through security till about 2:50), but we were in shade right outside Aria restaurant, and there was a lovely breeze blowing. The crowd was in high spirits! Once they moved us through security, you were split off between forecourt and steps seating (we were on the steps). While waiting beneath the steps (we were pretty close to the front of the line) there was squealing etc behind us, and we turned and saw Hugh walking through the line up, going into the Opera House itself - excitement levels increased! Then almost straight after, Russell Crowe walked by about 5 metres from us - I got a pic or 2 of him, they are fairly dark b/c we were under the steps in the shade, but I have a great sillhouette of his belly in 'relaxed' mode
Then we went in and got our seats. We were on the Bridge side of the steps, not quite half way up. We had a great view as this side was closest to the stage, as the stage itself was on an angle. Oprah came out eventually, there was a lot of excitement, then it was time for Hugh to make his entrance. And boy, what an entrance - you could tell he was going WAY too fast! The way he swung on that line when he hit the end was bone jarring. You couldn't tell that he'd hit his face on the light till he came down, but he did indicate that all wasn't well, while keeping the mood light (his son was in the front row, jet-lagged and quite upset). Oprah was so concerned for him, and insisted that he see a paramedic - 2 groups of them rushed towards the stage, and the first guy to reach him gave him a hug right there on stage - too funny!
They patched him up and then they had their Vegemite and Penfolds Grange tasting. This was followed by an interview with Bono, Nicole and Keith (he couldn't get a word in as she kept yapping

and Olivia Newton-John. There were scenes shown from the outback adventures of her special 302 people throughout. Then the finale was the celebs minus Bono (he had a concert to get to) plus Russell Crowe, and the Qantas childrens choir, singing I Still Call Australia Home - that was amazing.
There were some cringe-worthy moments where Oprah would try to make an Aussie joke and it would fall flat, or she would say something that wasn't funny but the audience would find hilarious anyway!
Our session will be the 4th and last show in the series on Australia, airing in the US in January (no date given).
Oh, and we were all given a diamond O shaped pendant. Or rather, we were given a card that we can redeem online after Jan 1, for a diamond O shaped pendant! It looks really nice actually, I think they are pink diamonds from the Argyle mine.
All up, a very enjoyable experience! I will do my best to upload the pics onto my PC this afternoon - one of Oprah's ladies kept saying no cameras, please put your cameras away, but I managed to sneak a few anyway
