Oprah today: The missing groom's wife speaks

I think they were both drugged to be robbed and raped. I think something went wrong and they hit him over the head in the room and threw him overboard. In my job I have seen in quite a few cases medical records of men who were raped by other men. Mostly met in a bar and probably slipped something etc. It isn't always men raping only women. Sometimes it is gang rape and men on men. Just some food for thought.

That could explain why there was blood in the cabin-they did say there wasn't a substantial amount. Not like on the -I'm sorry-was it the deck or the balcony that had the large amount of blood? That looked to be quite a bit.

I know on our cruise, if I'd woken up in the hallway in another part of the ship-I'd be very alarmed at that alone. And not being able to walk-but being transported in a wheel chair-sounds more like she was drugged, the more I think about it.

Okay...I'm gonna have to go with they were both trashed, not drugged and he fell overboard due to his own drunkeness. Many people witnessed their partying on the cruise and that night was no different. Although I wouldn't have acted the way they did on my honeymoon, doesn't mean that they were more comfotable partying with random people. They were also witnessed to be drinking Absinthe? Good thing they did on that cruise, because its not even legally sold in this country, I believe due to it's potency. Even though they were hanging with some unsavories (so we've heard), I really believe that this is a case of personal responsibility gone amuck. The guy in the next cabin said they were having loud parties for most of the cruise and on that night, a very noisy drinking game. He heard many voices and then finally heard people leaving. He said it got very quiet except for one male voice talking. (people do talk to themselves when they're wasted) After about 20 minutes he heard what sounded like furniture being moved. Deck chair perhaps? Then he heard a loud thud. I really doubt that everyone leaves and one guy drags this guy over and hurls him over the balcony. The blood stain appears as if he landed head first and probably laid on the canopy for a while before either rolling off due to ship movement or by his own groggy movements. She was found passed out in a hallway about 40 minutes later. She came to as soon as they woke her and when they escorted her to her room, no one was there. She was too trashed to notice. As for the blood in the room, I believe Greta said it was supposedly a very small amount of a washcloth in the bathroom. Maybe he stumbled and got hurt on his own before he wandered out onto the balcony and pulled up a chair? I don't know...it's a mystery....but sometimes, things do just happen. By the way, when this case first broke, I totally believed that it was murder. Sorry for the long post.

Some of the other rumors were that she was flirting with other guys while on the cruise. I wonder if her husband found her in bed with another guy and they took it outside and that is when this happened. Who knows just another possibility.

I tend to think some weird stuff was going on. This is just me, but when I was on my honeymoon I didn't want to spend time with anyone else but my wife. It was our honeymoon not a frat party.

As far as her parents wanting security for her as she left the ship.... ever been to Turkey? My cousin's fiancee is Turkish and her parents sent her here because in her words, "Women are not valued in Turkey" And I have to believe that a woman as blonde as Mrs. Hagel-Smith would stick out like nobody's business there.

Nothing new to add it's just very strange. Watched the Oprah show yesterday. The wife was just strange to me. Nothing makes sense. Her demeanor is "off" somehow. I'm not sure what it is. Can't put my finger on it, but something's just not right. I agree with others about the spa appointment. My first thought was the same. She's passed out in a hallway, sleeps for 4 hours, no recollection of anything from the previous night, has 4 hours of sleep but remembers her spa appointment? Even if it was a couples massage, I would think not remembering a thing from the previous night would cause alarm. Not remembering getting back to her cabin? I would have been scared out of my wits. Not concerned with going to get a massage. Very weird.

I agree with you--hubby and I never left one another on our honeymoon cruise (save trips to the bathroom when we weren't in our cabin).

After 10 years of being together, my dh and I were married. One night of our honeymoon (we had a suite at the Grand Floridian) his football team (Steelers) was playing the Monday night game and he is a die hard Steeler fan. Now I know people say they were always together during their honeymoon, but I HATE football, and although I love my dh dearly, I will not sit around watching him yell and cheer at the tv -not my idea of fun. So what did I do that night - yup, rode the monorail and went hotel hopping/shopping during the game. Maybe it was because we had been together so long that it really didn't bother us to do something separate. However, I would NOT like it if I woke up and he was not in the room with me. I believe Jennifer said they had been together 3 years and lived together 1 1/2 years. We don't know what their relationship was prior to all this, but if they wanted a little alone time who are we to judge? I think we might never know what truly happenned that night.
