Considering taking 3 yr old son to Legoland over half term and would love to hear from anyone who has been! Is it worth it? Will there be lots for him to do? Tell all!!!
Thanks

Hi Debs

We went 5 years ago when our daughter was just coming up to 3. She loved it! There was quite a lot to do for that age group (unfortunately though she wanted to do the same things over and over again!).

We also enjoyed our day and the lego displays are fantastic!

We went in 1999 when the boys were 3 & 5 and they absolutely loved it. We spent a full day there, and if the park was not closing, we could have spent longer.

Went again last year when the boys were 7 & 9, and they enjoyed themselves just as much.

There is loads for a 3 year old to do, but a few of them involve getting wet, so I would advise a change of clothes for your child.

We used to live very near to Legoland and had annual passes - it is DS' favourite place after Disney! In my opinion it is definitely the best U.K theme park for younger children. There will be lots for your DS to do from the learner driver school to the pirate falls! It is quite expensive for a day but is well worth it and IMO it is far better (especially for younger children) than Thorpe Park/Alton Towers etc.

Thanks for your help! Are there height restrictions on many of the rides, as he's eyeing up the rollercoasters and there new Jungle ride!!! Are there plenty of places to eat or should we take a picnic? Will it be mayhem at half term or do you think the lines will be manageable?

The following should link to info on height restrictions

We usually take a picnic so that we can eat between rides or in the queue! There is a good variety of 'eateries' (see Food&Drink section on above link!)

The water area is great fun (Duploland). Last time we carried a swimming cossie with us and we changed my daughter when we got to this area.

I am afraid I've no idea how busy it will be in half term.

Have fun!

We went to Legoland yesterday.

The park itself is ok but is very expensive.

2 Adults & 2 Kids £86 to get in.

Lunch. 2 Adult meals, 2 kids meals, 2 Coffees and lids drinks £25:50

Tea. 2 Coffees 2 Waters 4 cakes £12:50

Pick and Mix on the way out for the kids £5:50 (£1:20 per 100 grams)

All in all a very expensive day out.

We did swap out 1 day tickets for a 3 month fun pass for no extra but next time we will be taking all our own food and drink.

Obviously not as good as Disney but probably the best park in the UK. Noticeably cleaner & tidier than some of the others. Kids love it but it is expensive.
