Opinions Please DW says lets wing it on ADR

This is what we did last year and it seemed to work out pretty good.
We planned our ADR for all of our TS meals and one or two CS meals that we really wanted to experience. The remaining CS meals we left up to where we were that day and time.

You can make ADRs for CS??? First I've heard of this, where can you make the reservations for?

Make the ADR's. This is free dining time and they are getting booked. We will be there Aug 28th - Sept 4th and my DS wanted to go to Le Cellier -- all booked already. They are going to Mexico instead. Over the years we've seen many people turned away at various restaurants who didn't make ADR's.

We went last year in September for free dining and were glad we made our reservations ahead of time! We're going back this year and already have them booked :)

At the very least, book meals like Cinderella's Royal Table that you really don't want to miss out on! If you leave a couple of days without anything booked you still should be able to get something, especially if you go for lunch instead of dinner.

We also changed our reservations several times while we were there. The reservation assistant at the Pop was very nice and because people are cancelling all the time, things open up daily. You can always cancel your reservations as well without penalty in most cases.

So pick a few must-visits and just book those if your wife is concerned with over-planning.

One more thing, how can I get my boyfriend to be as involved in the planning as you are? LOL... he just kinda goes along with whatever I say for the most part.

Well I guess you know now...BOOK...LOL. I booked mine a couple of weeks ago (before free dining ws announced) and got everything I wanted, but like I said that was before free dining was announced. we are there Sept 8-21.

When we went Oct 2005 during free dining we had a 7pm res at Le Celier and still waited over an hour. There were people coming up the whole time and being turned away...boy were they mad. I felt bad for them.

Sorry, I guess I should've been more specific.
We planned our whole meal itinerary around our booked ADR TS meals AND our "planned" CS meals. The rest of our CS meals we winged-it.

Once I start talking about food, I don't think (or type) straight!

They are really discouraging walk ups these days. When I went in February the CMs at the check-in desks would tell people it's hard to get seated without a reservation. This wan't even during a peak time.

We did wing it on year during free dining and will never do that again. All the places in the parks were full and if by chance we did get a reservation it was for 3:15 or 3:30 in the afternoon. We even ended up using a table service meal for hamburger and hot dog meal because we could find no place to eat. We thought winging it would be less stressful actually create more stress less time doing what we enjoyed because we were constantly hunting for a place to eat.

So do yourself a favor get the restaurants reserved now :)
