So.....we sail in a week and two days...WHOO! WHOO!!

On this sailing it will be me, my husband and our 8yr old granddaughter. Around Christmas I bought at Walmart this cool light saber with the intention of getting Kate excited about the trip. Well now she wants to take it onboard..

Do you think we could even board the ship with it? I would rather deal with her disappointment here at home instead of at the terminal.

Opinions welcomed!!

Anything that resembled a weapon, etc. would not be permitted on board.

The DCL site states:
  • Firearms, ammunition, knives (including dive knives), swords, daggers and any other types of weapons
  • Toy guns or other replicas of firearms and weapons
I don't see how a lightsaber falls under any of those definitions. It's not a weapon, it's not a replica of a weapon, and it cannot reasonably be mistaken for an actual weapon.

Just off the Fantasy Star Wars sailing and there were kids everywhere with light sabers. They also sell them onboard.

You can bring store brought light sabers. I packed ours in our checked luggage. We had no
problems. Lots of kids and adults had store bought light sabers. I bought ours right after Christmas at Rite Aid toy clearance. Only paid $2.50 per saber.

Just please don't let her wave it around when other people are around. Gotten hit a few times by kids with swords, etc.
