Opening the slide

Just an FYI, but everyday they have a special "opening of the slide" at 10. My children both got to do it on different days during our stay. They choose a child to open the slide by blowing a train whistle, wearing a conductors hat and shouting all aboard. The child gets to keep the hat and whistle. They made for the best souveniers because they were free...LOL I will post a pic once I DL my pics and remember how to post them!!

That sounds so cool!! Does it have to be a child by age, or can an overgrown child like me do it? Although, I suppose if my family was lucky enough to be picked I'd let one of my daughters do it...maybe.

We only saw children. The kids were at the pool with my parents when my daughter was picked. She wasn't first in line, but she says she was the first to raise her hand. The day my son was picked, he was first in line.

My daughter got to do this on our very last day just before we checked out. She was thrilled!

We saw this being done and it was really fun! A hint for having your child chosen is to have them line up at the bottom of the slide steps before the lifeguards open the slide. Fun!
