Only so many staterooms for DVC members?

When I booked our NYE wonder cruise, I was told that there ARE a limited number of staterooms available for DVC guests. I asked what availability was like on the ship and she said it was pretty decent BUT that only a certain number of staterooms are available to DVC members for booking.

It seems a little early for that cruise to be sold out to DVC members already unless it's a holiday cruise?
