so what are the must-dos? I have DS13, DD3, DS18m, DH and myself.

What does your family do there?

Thanks for the advice - we're leaving Saturday! :cheer2:

Everyone has their own opinion, but our favorites are TT, SSE, LWTL, HISTA, and DH and DS15 love MS (it makes me and DS10 sick as dogs). I'm sure Soarin' will be on our list of favorites, too (haven't been on it yet). Beyond the rides my favorite thing is the street entertainers in WS. Be sure and take some time to see them, and to sample some of the ethnic food in WS, as well as El Rio del Tiempo in Mexico and Maelstrom in Norway.

Like it was stated....everyone has their own opinion about Epcot. Personally for me, I could spend my whole time taking in all of WS. Try to see as many street performers as possible. Sample as many foods. And visit as many countries as you can. Both boat rides (Mexico and Norway) are a bit cheesy, but I wouldn't skip them if possible. I love Sorin' at DL and would suggest you do that. I could do it over and over again. Next time I do I plan to skip MS. Made me feel icky afterwards. SSE is another I would not miss. But I would definately suggest spending as much time in WS as possible. And get the passports to visit each country. Have a great time.

Test Track and Mission Space are must sees, MS more than TT which is just an excuse for GM to show off their new cars at the end of the ride. MS is very clever but you really need a strong stomach.

Soarin is Ok, a good concept but its overhyped and missing something to make it a wow ride.

Living with the land is good, i really enjoyed the greenhouse tour bit

Spaceship Earth is dull zzzzzzzzzz, apart from the novelty of being in the golf ball, it didnt do much for me.

The World Showcase is pretty good but on a hot day there is no where near enough shade when walking round. Loads of good restaurants and places to get a drink so for that I rate it pretty highly :) Lots to see and take in and you dont need to rush so the WS is nice and relaxing. If you've been to many of the countries shown it will make you a bit sad to see whole cultures reduced to a show, a restaurant, and a gift shop tho. If you're not a US resident and dont know what patriotism is, check out the American Adventure. Wow that was full on!

Inoventions is rubbish. Disney Quest isnt great but its more entertaining than this. The future of video games section is a joke. Its just games you can buy in the shops now.

Wonders of Life was shut when we went so I cannot comment and didnt get to do the Imagination Pavillion or Illuminations as the aforementioned lack of shade caused DW to contract a mild sunburn (her pale scottish skin was no match for the harsh Orlando sun) resulting in an early return to the hotel.

Not sure if its still on but the topiary and flowers from the flower festival were amazing.

Since you have a 3yo and an 18mo, I'd be concered about some of the attractions - HISTA, Maelstrom, Universe of Energy. They are all entertaining, but may be intimidating for the younger ones. You might have to do some swapping with TT and MS, but those are "must-dos" for us. Also the boat in Mexico is a family favorite.

There are great extra performances around the WS that are worth seeing.

THanks for all the great advice - I know Epcot is huge and we won't be able to do it all. My teen will love the rides. My husand will love WS - oh, what about Honey, I Shrunk the Audience? Are there any activities for my little ones?

That was on my list of possibly too scary for little ones. My DDs saw it once and so far haven't gone back.

OHH---Turtle Talk with Crush in the Living Seas is AWESOME!! A definite must-do for us and great for the kids.

Depending on what time of year you are going, Epcot is doable in one day. We went to Epcot (the one and only Disney park I have been in) in Jan one year. There were about 12 people in the park. We got around the entire park, twice. We got there right after it opened and stayed until the end of the fireworks. Unless you are going on 4th of July or at Christmas, you should be able to do Epcot in one day. We are going to be in Epcot a week from tomorrow!!!!!!! I will let you know how much we got done in one day.

I'm not going to sugar coat this. With the age range of your kids and the time of year you're going (June isn't January and there will be more than 12 people in the park), it will be tough to do it all in one day. The Kidcot stations throughout Epcot are great for the younger kids, but it's also time consuming. If you're planning on doing Test Track, Soarin and Mission Space, I think you'll be lucky (and extremely tired) if you get to do Epcot in one day. Maybe consider splitting up for a while and DH or you can take DS13 to TT, MS, and Soarin.

Yes, we are leaving Saturday and plan on doing Epcot on Monday. Good idea to split up. Thanks for all the great advice.....I'm going to print this thread -

I didn't see it mentioned, but with a three year old and an 18 month old, I would definitely make time to see Crush's Turtle Talk in the Living Seas pavilion! It is the cutest show and even you and your 13 yr old will love it! They have added Dory to the show now and her part is hilarious! :rotfl: It's a "Don't Miss" Epcot attraction!

Well, while I did mention it about five posts ago - I'm SO GLAD you posted too because I had no idea they added Dory to the show. I love Dory!! Now that makes this must-see even more so!

My kids (5, 7, 9) had fun in Innoventions West (and me too!).

The Plastic Works exhibit has a computer based game. There are 10 or so computers with foot mats (?) in front of them, and a large screen on the wall.

Each person builds a robot on the screen by chosing the head, body, legs and colors, then choose characteristics such as elasticity, heat resistance, etc. and you name your robot.

Then everyone sees everyone elses robot and gets to vote on looks. My DS7 won and was very proud of himself.

Then there is a robot race and you use the mats to run and jump through the race. As you run in place on the mats, the robot goes faster, and you can move sideways, backwards, and jump also.

I had fun with this - I was in first place right until the end, when some kid came back and beat me. (I also broke a sweat trying to do it..)

Then you can move on to the Plastic Works factory (or your 3-year old can go right to it) where you can build a robot using plastic parts and you get to keep it. My kids really liked this.

We went to Epcot twice during our trip, and my kids wanted to do Plastic Works both times - mainly to get the free robots, which they still play with, but my DS7 was addicted to the robot computer game.

Innoventions also has a few Xavix systems set up - these are video games where you phsically participate. For example, my son and I did the baseball game, where you stand in front of a big screen TV and the pitcher "throws" and you actually swing a bat and try to hit home runs. My daughter liked the bowling game, where you "roll" a ball down the lane.

Epcot sounds great - thank you all for this awesome advice!! I love Dory - that will be hilarious!
Would my 13 yo be too old for the Plastic Works?

I don't think so - there were teens and adults (such as me) playing the Plastic Works game. The kid who beat me in the race looked to be about 13... pirate:

Test track and Mission space are great. Crush's Turtle talk at the livings seas is great. I have not done soaring but I understand that it is great. I also like the Imagination ride with figment.

Have fun

If you think you want to do Mission Space, do it last.... in case anyone gets sick.

(Search for the thread from a week or two ago about this. I never get sick on rides, but I nearly did on Mission Space, and felt sick the rest of the day.)

Thanks for the tips - I was telling my 13yo about some of the people saying you need a strong stomach for MS - he was like "not me, it won't bother me" - tough guy. Still....I'll take the advice and save it for last! :)

Didnt read the whole thread but i say

get a Fastpass for Test Track
Do Soarin' first it is a spectacle, then go back to Test Track.
Do Missions space if you want, and try to go on the Living with the land boat ride.
Then spendtime wandering around the countries

Main advice is dont wait too long in line for Test Track. Its a big dissapointment IMHO
