Only crustables?

My kids love PB & J and I was thrilled that many kids menus offer them. Then I read further and found out that many were crustables. After reading the nutritional info at Smuckers (HFCS and partially hydrogenated oil to start), I won't give these to my kids (and I don't think they would eat them). Does anyone know if they're actually any REAL PB&J sandwiches and where we might find these? TIA

Sorry, but we mostly saw Uncrustables... But I love them! LOL:rotfl::rotfl:

Me, too! My husband will buy Uncrustables just for me to snack on sometimes. :lmao: But my son loves them, too.

I think some of the resorts sell bread and peanut butter, but I'm not 100% positive. You could always use a grocery service or bring your own.

Sorry, but this thread makes me shudder :rotfl: I have a peanut allergy, only need to breathe in airbourne peanut protein to have an anaphylactic reaction.
So I am not an expert on PB&J as nobody in our family eats it and we avoid it like the plague as you probably understand :rotfl2:

But.... They have PB&J on the kids menu at Jiko, being a 2TS restaurants surely they would not serve an uncrustable (we don't have these in Australia so I assume they are a premade/prepackaged thing), but make the sandwich fresh themselves, for 2 TScredits. Not that you are going to have dinner every night at Jiko, but that may be one place you can find a real PB&J sandwich for your kids to enjoy, but I can not be sure.

If I remember correctly, the food courts at the resorts sell slices of bread & peanut butter in the little packets that look like what jelly comes in, along w/ the little packets of jelly.

It is only a week, it isn't worth stressing about it in my opinion, I let the kids eat what they want on vacation. And on the scale of things in life a few PB&J's that may be more processed than normal isn't going to affect a thing. Relax and enjoy vacation.

Normally I would agree with you, but HFCS affects my kids' behavior and since it's in so much food, we avoid it when we can. There's enough horrible food that they can enjoy at disney!

Earl of Sandwich (Downtown Disney) shows a "PB&J - peanut butter and grape jelly" sandwich on their kids' menu. Haven't had it to be certain, but since it is a sandwich place, I would hope they made you a fresh sandwich and didn't give you a pre-packaged one!

Not sure how you could tell what the peanut butter/jelly that might be provided outside of the Uncrustables contains. It could very well have the same stuff in it.

It's going to be very hard to avoid HFCS at Disney world, it's in all there bread and rolls that they use at counter service places, I know this because I had to ask to see the bags the rolls and bread comes in to check ingredients due to my nephews major allergy list on a previous trip. so the uncrustables are going to be the least of your worries. oh and at about 3 places that I asked to see the bags to read the ingredients list the cast members looked at me like I had 5 heads.

Well, considering that Disney has sponsorship ties with Smuckers, you can BET than any peanut butter and jelly on the property is made with smuckers pb and smucker's jelly.

ALL jelly has HFCS in it, unless it's "reduced sugar" or an organic version, both of which you will NOT find at WDW.

Even if a restaurant can make a PB&J, they will be using the same pb and j that is in the sandwiches, or something with the same ingredients.

If your kid can't live without PB&J for a week, pack a jar of pb and some jelly of the brand you prefer, and buy a package of whole wheat bread in your resort gift shop. Most of them carry the sandwich bread in loaves....

Most whole wheat breads have HFCS in them too. Some smaller lables dont(some will use honey or mollases), but the big names, use HFCS. even the 'whole wheat breads' also arent actually whole wheat either.. its wacky.. my wife makes her own bread, we have a grain mill and even make our own flour. (its cheaper, ect) but at disney, we dont care about hfcs... if we did, we'd be eating nothing but rabbit food.
