Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I also have to say, I love this system! Its a bit of a pain to find at first tho' so people aren't necessarily going to accidentally happen on it.

To cancel a ressie, I think you have to go all the way through with making one, once you have done that, it brings up all your reservations and gives an option to cancel any of them there, at least thats how I found them!

I was also suprised to see when i booked an afternoon lunch at the plaza to be given the option of a dinner seating at CRT! The only thing that held me back was that it was for an hour after the park closes on a MNSSHP night and I didn't want to risk getting booted out of the park before we could go since were not staying for MNSSHP, but still!

Another case of failing to retrieve reservation through the ADR system here.
My confirmation number and phone number work fine under My Vacation, but not under the ADR section.

I wonder if the ADR system is only containing details of resort reservations within the 90+10 window currently? I don't arrive until Sep 25th, so that might explain why I can retrieve. Or has anyone else outside their window been able to get in?

Hmm, the whole online booking system appears to have gone down again. Various error messages when you try to search for new availability or to retrieve an existing booking - most of which seem to translate to "too busy, try again later". At 4.30am !?!

By the way, thanks to the mods for splitting this thread - it was definitely needed!

System is back up again now.

But doesn't stuff like the following really make you wonder?

If your confirmation number contains alpha characters (A-Z), please enter these characters using capital letters (e.g., A, not a).

If they can't even implement a simple case-insensitive search, no wonder they've got problems with retrieving reservations!!!

Waiting for 6...Fingers poised...lol.

I hope I'm doing this right :( My reservation comes up when I put it in, but I don't see where to put in the phone number and other things dissers are talking about.

Not able to retrieve my reservation! I will be waiting on pins and needles until 7 am when I'll call...I do see that the booking window is starting at 09/15/09, so I couldn't even try out making an ADR for our first night.

Yup, our ressie (even with the mod the ADR CM made last night) will not work on the system.....so we're calling at 7 AM.

I DID make a ressie for Boma's this morning, at 4:40 PM, just so we can show the DVC lead we talked to that, indeed, the system refreshes at 6 AM.

So I went online and decided to see if I can put my cell # in to check if that worked for retrieving my reservation... it did?!?! I didn't believe my cell was EVER associated with the room reservation because it's with another one and I didn't want to mix them.

Oh well... I just thought it was weird.

I must have been slightly early or WDW was slightly late ;) because 09/16 did come up...I was able to get San Angel for our first day dinner. Yak and Yeti was booked up (maybe due to EMH PM that day). I checked out a bunch of others and it is slim pickings for what I looked at...not surprised at that, though.

The process was easy enough and so hopefully I will be able to make some decent reservations come 7 a.m.!

Just finished getting the four ADRs I wanted. Here's step-by-step what I did (for those of you who want details.)

  • I have a reservation starting Sept 16 that I booked through Disney Reservation System on the phone.
  • I double checked my reservation and the phone number to associate my dining with my reservation yesterday. No problems doing a test ADR.
  • While none of the ADRs I wanted are particularly hard to get, it is MNSSHP and Free Dining, and I'm an obsessive planner, so here I am, 90 days on the dot.

1. 6:03am - Coffee in hand, I pull up http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/.

2. I pull up WCC, first in line for ADR. I click "Book a Reservation."

3. After the booking system loaded, I click Retrieve Reservation, just above Date & Time, before searching.

4. After the association is made, taaa-daaa, there's the length of my stay, in the calendar, ready for searching (nope, not 10 days out, just the length of my stay.)

5. Got a decent time, and hit add to cart, after typing in security words like they have at Ticketmaster. Verified the offer was in cart.

6. Used the search function for the other three (easier than surfing back to the main menu), I filled up my cart, and got all the restaurants and dates I wanted, and 3 out of 4 when I wanted.

6. Hit checkout, and done. 6:12am.

7. 6:13am, confirmation email in inbox.

That's what I was afraid of :( I have a split reservation so I'm hoping I will still be able to do 90+10. I still have a few months though. My 90 booking date isn't until Aug. 14. Thanks for the details :thumbsup2

Where are you guys seeing the buttons on the dining page? I click on the link and it just takes me to the general dining page. What am I missing? I'm not seeing anywhere to "Make your dining" reservation.

I'm going too soon, the 90 days doesn't matter, I just want to try to use the system.

Help.

Thanks,
agnes!

This is what is on the first Dining page I see...

Walt Disney World® Dining and Reservations
To make reservations, call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 up to 90 days prior to your visit.

Can someone please help me? I click on the link, it just takes me to Disney Restaurant info. I do it again and again. How do I get to step 2? What is the WCC.:confused3

You will be able to do the first one at 90-days out for the length of that stay, and then a few days later at 90-days out from the start of your second reservation for the length of that stay.

Of course [hypothetical mode: on] you could always call now and extend your first hotel booking to a full 10 days (at no extra cost for now, as you have already paid your one-night deposit) and then after you've made your first 10-day batch of bookings in August you could reduce it back to the actual length of your stay at that hotel....

when you go into each individual restaurant page, there is a button to make a reservation.

I saw this on another thread and tried it to see if the option was there and it was. Go to the WDW site - click dining at the bottom of the page - then click restaurants - and on the restaurants listed - for example - Tusker House - it gives the option to "book now". I've heard that others book this way with success. Good Luck!

My res # starts with 3BB... and I am 100% sure I didn't capitalize the B's... and it worked just fine. :thumbsup2

After I made all 9 ADRs, it told me there was an error, to try again later :scared1: WHAT?!?! So I clicked the back button and submitted again... and it went through... WHEW! :wizard:

Just got done booking my ADRs online. It went great! I was actually having a nightmare:scared::scared1: about it when my alarm woke me up!! But everything went smoothly and I was able to get everything I wanted within the times I wanted them- some were even for 7 people!!
Just wanted to thank everyone for all the help and ideas!! :worship::worship:
Good luck to everyone!!!:thumbsup2
