Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Question: My 90 days is tomorrow. We are staying DVC, using a friend's points. I have our ressie number and their phone number. Should I even bother trying to do them online or just call at 7 am? Thanks. :goodvibes

I would like to know the answer to this also:)

I know this is all so new to everyone, so no one might have the answer to this, but the phone number on my resort reservation is my home number. Since the ADR's will be tied to my resort ressie it makes sense to use my home number. But, when you're filling out the dining reservation it asks for the number where you can be reached while travelling (which would be my cell). Does it matter which I use? (I'm tempted just to use my home number for everything just for the sake of consistency - I don't want Disney to get too many numbers in their system since this always seems to be a source of aggravation for people, ie. trying to figure out which phone number the system has tied to things etc).

Is this something people staying at SoG can take advantage of or is it another no-no for SoGers? TIA!

Please forgive me in advance - I've read through a TON of posts over the last 2 days and I've tried to keep up with as many as possible! :rotfl2: I'm anxious and excited like a lot of you because my ADR date is in 13 days! :cool1:

SO, I understand there are issues with Conf#s from TA's versus booking directly with Disney. I understand the process of how to book online as I've played around with it (and cancelled!) and it's cool once you get the hang of it. So, anyone can book just 90 days out - it's the 90 +10 that's the issue. Where can I "test" my confirmation number and phone number? I'm almost positive the phone number is valid because I've seen our number in there, but the confirmation number will be the hiccup, correct? I went to the Online Check'in where it asks for a Confirmation number and a phone number and I'm getting the error message:

My Disney Vacation - Error
Sorry, we are not able to display your reservation at this time. Please try again later.

Is this a typical error message you all are experiencing or does this indicate indeed my conf# won't work?

I remember another poster asked if the TA is able to give us a different conf# so we could do these online ourselves, or is it the TA's are able to book online since they're connecting to a different site or portal?

If I have to call, no problem - I took the day off! :lmao: I'd love to be able to book online like most others, however and have the same opportunity at 6am.

I sincerely appreciate someone taking the time to answer my questions and give me advice!

Thanks,
Heather

I book in 13 days too! Woohoo! As of right now, if you booked w/ a TA (like I did...and even w/ this glitch, I do NOT regret it), you can't access the +10 feature of the online booking system. (You CAN make an ADR, but only for the 1st day of your trip.)For some reason, the system doesn't recognize the TA res #...someone posted it may be an issue w/ the phone number... Hopefully, in the next 13 days they'll figure out a way to fix this (AND DVC bookings, too!!)

Your TA CAN use their online system to access the 90+10. The TA system doesn't request your phone number.

Or, you can CALL the WDW-DINE & make your ADR's 90+10 yourself on the phone.

So, if you want to do your ADR's for your whole trip, either have your TA do it, or call at 7am EST when the phone lines open...

Could this be the issue with TA and DVC bookings? I don't know about DVC but when I emailed your information to my TA she did suggest that this could be the issue since TA bookings are not made with any phone number associated with it. There is the TA phone number in the record somewhere but not probably where it needs to be based on your post

I've been messing with the system for awhile today, and my suspicion is, in fact, that the phone number might be the culprit for DVC ressies. I can't prove it...but that's my suspicion.

I think I might be a little slow, because I really have no idea how to do the 90+10 thing online...I know I asked a few posts back, but really, it makes no sense! I guess I'll just have to wing it when I can actually make my reservations next week! :confused3 :rotfl:

HI, I was just wondering if it is possible, through the online booking, to see what times are available for a specific restraunt or do i have to check each time individually? I really want CRT for 8/18. I have been checking through online booking but I have to go through each specfic time ex: 8:15, 8:30, 8:45, 9:00, 9:15, etc. and do a search for each time. Is there a way to just see if any adrs are available for the entire day? Thanks

When you check a specific time and nothing is available it says they checked one hour before and one hour after. So it does check a 2 hour span. Also you can check on a date range as well-5 day max range.

So, for example, I just checked from 9-18 to 9-23 at 6 p.m. Party of 3. It came up as CRT is avaible on 9-18, 7:15 p.m.

Then I modified it for 8 a.m., same date range and got 9-18, 9:05 am..

I was curious as to if only Friday, the 18th was open, so I modified it to 9-19 to 9-23, 8 a.m. I got 8:20, on the 19th available. Did a little more modifying and could get Sunday, 9-20 at 8:10. BTW, also showing available on Sundays was Chef Mickeys at 8:05 and Crystal Palace 8:05. I like that besides showing you the restaurant you chose, it also gives you options. :woohoo:

So it is possible to check out a range of time and dates. HTH. :goodvibes

Success/Confirmation with DVC ressies!!

We just got off the phone with Disney Dining....which I should have thought of long ago.

They looked at our DVC reservation # in the ADR system and, sure enough, NO phone number associated with the reservation number. Field is blank in their system.

She updated the record and saved it, but isn't sure when (or even if) it will really update. I'll let you all know tomorrow morning when we try at 6 AM.

Here's hoping it works....

I answered this (for someone else I think) back on post #526

http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=32316274&postcount=526

and it's really very easy. Once you get on the WDW site, click on the Dining link at the bottom left of the page. It'll bring you to the Restaurants page. Click on of the restaurants on the right hand side or click on "All Restaurants" and you get a screen which has a menu on the left side where you click on the park, location, of the restaurant. (Or you can scroll through the list) Then the restaurants for that location appear. The ones you can book will say "Book a reservation". Once you get to that page you'll see some writing where it mentions if you have a resort reservation you can retrieve it. Click on that link and enter your ressie and phone #. The calendar will now allow you to book 10 days past the 90 day llimit.

It works, I made about 14 ADRS today. :goodvibes

That's great! When I changed the phone# on my ressie earlier today (not DVC) it immeadiately updated it. I checked it while I was still on phone with the CM. Hope it works as well for you. :wizard:

Your description is fantastic. Just wanted to add a visual/direct quote to help out the poster :goodvibes

This is a quote from the text on the screen when you click on a restaurant to make a reservation - hope this helps you out a bit.

Update Your Profile Are you an Annual Passholder and/or Florida Resident? If so, please add this information to your account profile so we can tailor your dining search.

Retrieve Your Resort Reservation

Do you have a Resort reservation for the same days for which you're making dining reservations?
If so, please retrieve your reservation.

I have been playing with it all night:woohoo: Adding ADRs, canceling ADR's, and adjusting ADR's. So much easier than calling (if you know where you want to eat, day, and time).

Yes, you can!!!

I just checked all my ADRs online and printed out the confirmations. You need to enter your confirmation #'s, your phone number, and at the bottom of the boxes, it says "Multiple Confirmations". Keep clicking that until you get the number of boxes you want---I used seven.

It's great and now I have a printed record of every ADR.

Karla B.

I did the same thing - worked like a charm.

Well, maybe "like a charm" is a bit strong... I'll assume they're still working on more convenient stuff like letting people enter a phone number and easily print up all reservations at once... better yet, have this populate a usable itinerary/calendar page... :rolleyes1

Baby steps, I guess... I AM happy to finally be able to book online, though! :goodvibes

Hi! I used it tonight to book a couple of things! It was very easy!:rotfl: But, I did not know I could use it to cancel ADR's (I thought I would have to call) :confused3 How can I cancel?? :lmao: Also, does anyone know how often the site is updated (with cancellations)? Is it automatic??

I absolutely love it and was able to get reservations for all the restaurants I wanted.

Yes, whatever you do, don't except no for an answer so to say. Modify in every way you can to check for that time you want. Go ahead and use the 15 min increments as well, you might just be surprised. I did this while messing around for an early breakfast on 9/14 and when I put in 8:00 a.m. it came back with 9:00 a.m. so I put in 8:15 a.m. and it came back with an 8:25 a.m.

Good luck to you ;)

Tried it tonight and loved it! I am 29 days out and got 1900 Park Fare for dinner. I plugged in 5:30 pmand it returned no results so I revised my search with 6:30 pm and it returned a 6:55 availability. It gives you 20 minutes to finalize your ressie. Super easy. Now, I need to cancel one but I haven't done that yet.
