Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Just by chance my day to make dining reservations was today. I'm on the west coast so I stayed up until midnight. My arrival day is the 15th of September and only through the 14th was showing up. I went to bed at 12:10 (3:10 Eastern) as I had no idea when or even if the 15th would show up.

When I woke up the 15th was now available but the system wouldn't take my confirmation/phone number even though I can use the same info to view my package elsewhere on the site. I was able to make my reservation for the 15th but nothing else. I wound up calling to make the other reservations.

My experience as well. At least I did get Ohanas, Lecellier, CRT and Brown Derby (for the times I wanted, but definitely not the dates I wanted)

IF you have a reservation number and the correct phone number that the reservation is under, then YES you can book 90 + 10 (though clearly for some reason this is not working for DVC members).
There was only 1 phone number given when I made my reservation, so I know I have the right TN..... So, I'd rephrase that to "then MAYBE you can book 90+10"... guessing it's a system glitch that acknowledges some ressies and not others...

(I've tried both room ressies [split stay] and many variations of my tn, and also my cell tn on the off chance. I absolutely never give out my work tn and don't call from work.) so, I'm stumped too.

I need a beer :sad1:
.....needed one at 12eastern (that was 1:30am here..bedtime was 11:30)
....needed one at 6am eastern (that was 7:30am here, I was up but out of fresh milk for my morning cup of tea and couldn't take the time to run to the shop up the road )
...needed a 24 from 6am to 8:30am (7:30-10am here) when I finally gave up. (and had my morning cuppa at work... )

Oh, and to update on the DVC side:

My wife is awaiting her 3rd call back from the 3rd level of supervisors. At some point this morning, they finally started to acknowledge there was a problem.

Incidentally, there are a couple of threads over on the DVC planning board where we're talking about the DVC issue.

Some very non-standard testing seems to indicate the DVC issue may stem from phone numbers not being "right" in the disney system. When you enter a valid ressie # and a bogus phone # you get one error (the error commonly being seen by DVC members trying to add their ressie). If you enter a bogus ressie #, something not in the system at all, you get a completely (though subtly) different error message.

OK I have read through probably 10 pages and I am sure this has been asked, but here goes,
If you booked your trip through a TA and you have your confirmation # why can you not book online?

If you can book online why not the + 10?

Can you get the TA to book online at 6:01...not sure that I will because I do think that's a bit much to ask for:)
Is it possible to obtain info from her to book the ADR's, if so what info is needed from my TA?
She is a friend of ours so I have a little bit of a different situation.

Oh now my OCD is at a high, I was prepared to call right at 7 on the 23 now people will have a whole hour jump start on me?!?!?!?! I have to whine....its not fair!!!!!!

My TA said that the reason is that Disney didn't think or didn't realize how popular online dining would be right away and that since the TA res cannot be brought up on disneyworld.com that is where the issue is about making the +10 option for ADR's. you can make ADR's that are exactly or within 90 days but not the +10 because Disney's reservation system basically stinks.

My TA also mentioned that Disney is aware of the problem about TA and DVC bookings and is working on it

My TA does get up early to make the ADR's, I would suggest asking yours as you don't know if you don't ask.

I've been through as many pages of this thread as I can but can't find an answer to my question...is Planet Hollywood available to book online? I can't find the make a reservation tab for that restaurant.

has anyone had any experience with how to book 90 + 10 since it's only giving 90 days out???

YES-I was able to book up to, and inc., Sept. 23 and we arrive on the 12th. 90 days out is the 15th. I booked 10 first (max. before you check out) and then did 2 more. :goodvibes

Here's what the screen looks like when you click on one of the restaurants that has "Book a Reservation" button.

Update Your Profile
Are you an Annual Passholder and/or Florida Resident? If so, please add this information to your account profile so we can tailor your dining search.
Retrieve Your Resort Reservation
Do you have a Resort reservation for the same days for which you're making dining reservations?
If so, please retrieve your reservation.
You click on the retrieve your reservation and you'll be able to enter your ressie and phone #. Once it's accepted then you'll get the +10 dates to show open. Worked great for me this a.m. :goodvibes

For those that are having trouble retrieving their ressie/phone number I suggest calling 407-WDISNEY. I couldn't retrieve my info since booking in April. When I called today I found out why. The phone number linked to my ressie was my DM's work number that I probably used in 1998 or 99. (We've been about 10 times since then) Even though I have given my current phone number every time I have made a ressie, this old name was defaulting in the system. Lucky for me I still remember the number since the 2 ADRs I made by phone a few days ago are linked to that number. Then the ones I made online today are linked to my cel phone since they ask you for your contact # while at WDW.

If there isn't a "book reservation" tab on the disney site under the restaurant name than it isn't availabel to book online.

I've just figured it out...thanks anyway! It turns out after playing around with the system for a bit I've been trying to make ADR's a harder way than I need to!

On the first message page it says DVC and those that booked w/a TA can't book online. Does this mean a TA other than a Disney sponsored TA? We used Your Magical Journeys which is part of disney (I believe) so will I be able to book online?

I was stumped also as I was able to pull up my reservation with my home phone # on one part of the website, but not for dining. At first I thought my reservation would not come up on the dining area because it is not my 90 day window till Sat. Then I started playing around with the phone numbers. My home would not work even though it is listed on the reservation and then I thought I may have made my reservation at my sisters house, but her number didn't work either. Finally, I put in my BF's cell number and it came up like magic. I know I didn't make my reservation on his cell phone so maybe it is on record from another trip. I really have no idea, but trying all these phone numbers is ridiculous. It should go by home # or the number given on the reservation. I'm sure this will get worked out eventually.

I can confirm the messed up phone # thing. On my email con# from Disney is my home # yet I can only retreive my reservation with my cell #. I haven't used my house number with Disney for a couple of years, yet it is always on email confirmation.

Thanks for the info, you really explained it very well.

I use a Mac and couldn't get the online ADR's to work when I was using Safari but when I tried Firefox it worked great. Strange!

I am using a macbook and the online ADR worked with both Firefox and Safari. I was worried it might only work with IE.

I have a question, I don't know if this has been asked, but I was just at the disney website to see how the ADR system works. I didn't log in, my ADR date isn't for another week or so, but I just wanted to check it out. I tried looking for availability for Le Cellier then Crystal Palace. I'm wondering...if you don't log in, how do they know when your 90 day mark is? Do you put in your reservation # at the end when you have everything in your cart, and then they check, or do you do it at the beginning?

Again, sorry if this has been talked about already...;)

I just checked all of my ADRs and one was wrong! Thank goodness it was only for 1900 park fare Breakfast. CM made it for Sat. Sept 12 at 8:00am and I told her Thur. Sept. 10 at 8:00am. I even had a ressies for Princess breakfast at Epcot for that same time. I was able to make a ressie for 1900 park fare at 8:05am for the right day. :goodvibes

Also one of my 6 ressies was not coming up, so when I called to cancel the ressie for sept. 12, I told the cm I must have wrote down the wrong ressie number and I did. The 1st cm was calling the number off so fast. :goodvibes

My question is Party size.
It says if your Party is 10 or more to call but the system still allowed me to go all the way through and make a reservation for our Party of 10 online.
Checked out and got a confirmation number just fine.
Anyone?
Thanks.

If you don't use a reservation number or log in, you can make reservations 90 days from today. This is because anyone can make ADR's online, locals and those staying off site, as well as those that stay on site.

When the reservation number is important is when you need to book +10 to cover all the dates of your vacation.

It knows when the 90 day mark is by what date you are trying to book. You are only going to be allowed to book 90 days from today.

When you get ready to actually book in order to get the 90days plus 10 booking you will have to put in a recognized Disney resort reservation for that time frame.

So you will have to put it in at the beginning to get the plus 10 day advantage. Anyone can book 90 days out.

I would call Disney Dining with the confirmation number to verify that it's still there. I have read that it won't let you make one for a party of 11. Not sure if they are letting 10 slide, but not more than 10.

I apologize if this has already been addressed. We are a party of 14, traveling in December. Would it be easier to book as two groups of 7, or calling Group dining and trying to book together? We are part of Grand Gathering, with another family. Thanks! :goodvibes

I believe that Grand Gatherings have their own number to call and coordinator to work with. I would definitely use them versus trying to book on your own. True they may not work til 7am (online opens at 6am), BUT they also have special codes and things to make reservations happen for you (kind of like there are special codes for concierge)

This is based on what I was told by a CM a few months ago, I assume this is still true.
