Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I believe that Grand Gatherings have their own number to call and coordinator to work with. I would definitely use them versus trying to book on your own. True they may not work til 7am (online opens at 6am), BUT they also have special codes and things to make reservations happen for you (kind of like there are special codes for concierge)

This is based on what I was told by a CM a few months ago, I assume this is still true.

I am hoping that is the case. I know that booking for such a large party, is going to be challenging. They have a pretty big wish list, so there is a lot of pressure! Thanks!

I coordinate all of our family vacations and understand the pressure. If I were in your shoes I would call your Grand Gathering Consultant prior to your ADR date and work with them on the wish list.

OK I have read through probably 10 pages and I am sure this has been asked, but here goes,
If you booked your trip through a TA and you have your confirmation # why can you not book online?

If you can book online why not the + 10?

Can you get the TA to book online at 6:01...not sure that I will because I do think that's a bit much to ask for:)
Is it possible to obtain info from her to book the ADR's, if so what info is needed from my TA?
She is a friend of ours so I have a little bit of a different situation.

Oh now my OCD is at a high, I was prepared to call right at 7 on the 23 now people will have a whole hour jump start on me?!?!?!?! I have to whine....its not fair!!!!!!

Does anyone have the answers to these? Thanks so much????

make sure you are logged in. go under "my disney vacation" on the top right- go down to reservations then to dining reservations. There's a space for the ADR # and your phone number that you made the ressie under. You can click to check multiple reservations and put in ALL of your reservations, and when they are located you now have a list of each and every ADR. Enter your email in the spot provided and they will email this entire list to you. Good way to check that all your reservations made by a CM are correct!!!

For whatever reason this part (in red) didn't work for me. If I entered more than one, I just got a "reservations not found". But when I entered them one at a time, they did come up. Just for anyone who might panic like I did! ;)

Am I right to assume that when making an ADR online you first need to log onto WDW website, the same way you would when making a hotel reservation.

You don't need to unless you want it tied to that reservation or are trying to book beyond 90 days.

I am using a macbook and the online ADR worked with both Firefox and Safari. I was worried it might only work with IE.

Thanks fellow Mac'ers. I think Disney's site might have been experiencing technical difficulties last night. I'm home now on my Mac and was able to book and cancel a Yak & Yeti res.

That's why I posted my question, I thought the "download" of the calendar was going to pose an IE or windows based comp. issue and I'd be pi$$ed. All is good though.

Now, if only DH upgrades my iPhone on Friday (since 2morrow is my bday!), all will truly be good.:cake:

My question is Party size.
It says if your Party is 10 or more to call but the system still allowed me to go all the way through and make a reservation for our Party of 10 online.
Checked out and got a confirmation number just fine.
Anyone?
Thanks.

I was also able to make three reservations online for a party of 10. I got WCC, R&C and "Ohana all for next month. I also just called to check by phone because I couldn't pull up my ressie online (I was using the wrong phone #), and all my ressies were in place and exactly how they should be.:)

Yes, I am done begging for LeCelliers.

However I need to go to practice for the other ADR's online. Is it best to register first or will it know me by my reservation #?

I was, and I was stumped, because I could bring up both room ressie confirmations using my home phone number online in the general site, but could get nowhere on the ADR site.

I ended up calling to make (some) ADRs after 7am. 2 calls, also asked both CMs if I was entering the correct info. (in retrospect I realize they both sidestepped the questions..Dissers seem to have more info than some CMs.. not a huge criticism, just fact). All earlier CMs had asked for my phone number, as if for confirmation of their info.
This afternoon I tried again, and it just did not make sense that some people could access and others could not.
So I called back to Disney, and told the agent I'd like to speak to someone who could help me with the system, was told there really wasn't anyone (Eek! I thought not, but was surprised to hear it, but, it is early days yet, I realize that for all). So, I asked for a supervisor. How much more does a supervisor know than a regular CM, I don't know, but the super I spoke to saw the problem in less than 30seconds. And fixed it. And told me to try before I hung up. (She told me my phone number didn't appear on the reservation! And she entered it in the necessary area(s))
And I'm in!

SO:
If entering your Disney issued/nonDVC resort ressie # & your phone # (eg7095550000) does NOT retrieve your reservation, then call WDW and ask the agent to check thru your rm/pkg reservation(s) to be sure your correct number is listed everywhere a phone number might be.
Before you hang up from the CM, make sure it works in the ADR system.
If it doesn't, politely ask for a supervisor.
I did, and she fixed the issue!

And, because I'm now able to check in the system, I've got CRT and LeCellier for my time & date of choice (not 1st choice, but 2nd choice date and that's good enough for me!):thumbsup2

EDITTED about 7:30pm Eastern to say: I booked directly with the Disney 1 407 number.. no other agencies (TA/AAA etc) or DVC involved. So, I only suggest this as a recourse for people who booked themselves by calling Disney. (TAs or DVC points seem to have their own sets of issues)

My question is this: My dad will be trying to make his reservations online tomorrow, but is completely new to all of this. It will be their first trip. So, he will not know which restaurants are participating in the DDP. I didn't see this information when I was online trying to figure out their new system. Is there somewhere online when you are making the ressies that says whether or not a restaurant is or is not participatin in the DDP? We are going for free dining and I don't want him to make the mistake of reserving restaurants that are not on the plan or take up 2 credits that he doesn't have.
Any help???

In his case I would definitely have him call in so that he can ask a live person questions. You can also look here for the dining pdf file

Could this be the issue with TA and DVC bookings? I don't know about DVC but when I emailed your information to my TA she did suggest that this could be the issue since TA bookings are not made with any phone number associated with it. There is the TA phone number in the record somewhere but not probably where it needs to be based on your post

This is a good point. On the TA online dining site it only asks for the resort reservation when booking the 90+10 option or if you want to associate a resort reservation to the ADR when within 90 days). It doesn't ask you for a phone number until you are checking out. Then it asks for an email, name, phone number for both the guest and travel agent.

Nope! I booked directly w/ the 1 800 disney number (hahaha, I mean, the 1-407 disney number!). No TA involved at all! Just lack of Pixie dust!

I just did ours for our Sept trip. Once I figured out where, the site was easy to use. The only thing I couldn't get was a table at DHS for dinner at a decent time since that is EMH evening for the park.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure to call them in a little bit- my phone is currently charging in the bathroom and I don't want the CM to think I am on the toilet because of the bathroom echoes :lmao:

Last thing I need is for something like this to mess up my preferred ADR times!

Thanks again!

I just called and they told me no way could they enter a phone number for me.
I booked thru AAA. I can't even get a return email let alone count on them to make adr's for me. By the way, which she had never even heard of!!!
