Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Wait, what's the whole deal with 3 AM? I think I missed something somewhere.

.

Disney time is Eastern time, same as here in Ohio. So when I do my ADRs online it is 6am, or phone ressies at 7am. But for folks out in California... they will be looking at 3am for online and 4am for phone. Does that make sense? :thumbsup2

And yes, it does "roll" at 6am, as opposed to midnight, or 7am like the phone system. So, basically, if you get online tomorrow at 5am, you will still only be able to access the same dates you could access today.

I understand that Disney has officially rolled out their online ADR reservation system. For those of you that have used it, how was your experience? Is it better than talking to a CM on the phone? I'm about 2 weeks away from making my ADR's and need help in deciding which way to go.

If you have direct access to Web Support, tell them to check the phone number matching in the database.

I'm sure it's that too, some parts of the system allow more than 10 digits for example, while some limit entries to 10 digits only. They really should just try to compare the last 7 numeric digits to get a reasonable match.

When do the online ADR's open? Am I going to have to wait up till midnight now to get my CRT ADR? Or do they begin accepting new requests at 7:00am like the reservation line?

I asked this on the main online dining ADR thread but everyone there seems to be more worried about DVC and TA problems with the system...
Anyway, I'm going during free dining and wanted to try to book through the new online ADR system. How is this going to work for Hoop de Doo during free dining? I know when you call you have to give them a credit card to hold. Also, I was playing around and checked on a date in September and it lists prices by all of the categories, even cat. 2 amd 3??? Can't figure out how online will work with a dinner show during free dining. Does anyone know?
TIA:goodvibes

I am so excited about this. My next trip I am setting all my own ADR's online. Now this just gives me another reason to take a trip to WDW....like I need one. ;)

Oh! I was confused what "roll" means. I knew about the time differences, I was just confused why it was a special time.

I used the online ADR booking system this morning. I hope noone is losing their job because we are making our ADRs online now. :guilty:

I was told the ta issue was an easy fix. A CM told me to have my TA make sure my info name, address, phone was in the system not hers then I should be able to make all the reservations myself online. That sounds to easy to be true.. I guess we'll find out in the morning.

Bump. I came to this forum to get this exact same question answered for myself. When I get to a point where it asks for names, etc. it says I owe the full amount of the meal today, even though in theory it should charge me 2 TS vouchers per person. I hope it's just a credit card hold, and not an actual charge. But I don't see anywhere where you enter that you're on the dining plan.

I don’t know what to believe anymore. Both times I spoke with Tech Support today, they stated that my current home phone number is the number that is associated with my reservation. They also said it is the only phone number they have for me in the system, yet for whatever reason I still can’t retrieve my resort reservation on the dining system. (It's not a DVC or TA ressie.)

Anyway, after poking around for awhile, the Tech Support CM suggested I try clearing my cookies and transferred me to Guest Services. The CM there advised me to get a hold of Tech Support! I got the distinct impression that they have no idea what the problem is. :rolleyes1

It isn't as easy as that, if it was it would already been fixed. It is an IT issue.

Can DVC members make them online now? I know back in May they could not. I need to make mine on 6/28/09 and I am not sure if I should call too just in case.

Don't feel guilty. It's progress and it's a good thing to be able to do this now. Most people that work for things like CRO are working in a call center. I work at a call center (though I'm not a customer service rep), and contracts come and go on just about a monthly basis. People who are not flexible enough in their skillsets to work multiple contracts might lose their jobs when the company's contract with the customer expires, but most other employees easily stay on and work for other call center contracts.

If you're DVC, you can make any reservation you want online unless you are trying to make them 90 + 10, because the system doesn't register DVC confirmation numbers. Until they fix that we will have to call.

There probably is going to be fewer reservationists at 407-WDW-Dine. But I won't miss waiting 20 minutes on a toll call either.

That said, Disney has some of the nicest people on their telephone lines compared to most companies. And when you're at the World, you'll still need them. 407-WDW-DINE is on my cell phone's speed dial!

C'est la vie.

Well that stinks. So everyone else gets a 1 hour start. Online reservations open at 6am, 5a, my time. That is not fair to DVC members. The whole calling thing is a nightmare!!! BOO
