Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I'm just curious, has anyone been able to put the restaurants on their dining favorites for easy access. Someone was able to do this earlier but I am not. When I get to the blue screen the ones that I had put into favorites don't show up. While in the blue screen I have also been trying to put them in, but I only got one in and don't even know how I did it. For anyone who has been able to put restaurants in the favorites, I would love some instruction.
Thanks

I tried to set up a favorites list for dining, but it doesn't keep the restaurants at Animal Kingdom on the list and only half of the ones I chose have saved :confused3

Tried it several times and kept getting "sorry, system error!"

Would love to know if anyone else has managed to set up a dining list in their favorites that contains all their choices?

I am having the same problem. Most of my are saving but the ones at AK will not and there is one at MK that won't save either. :confused3

I looked the other day, and it doesn't appear to be yet, but does anyone know if they plan on adding BBB to this system? Just wondering since others have mentioned booking entertainment through the same system and BBB can currently be booked through the dining reservation number.

OK so tomorrow I can book (90 days out) I was going to try online ressies, so when I pulled up the calendar, to get anidea of how it works, I notice it didnt highlight the 90 plus 10 - do you need to call to get the 10 days out?

When you are actually to your 90 days, it will let you book out for your +10 days. So, when you retrieve your resort reservation tomorrow, it will "unlock" those extra days for you to book your ADRs.

After playing around and testing on the system I've decided it's one of the worst designed reservation systems ever designed! It is not user friendly in any sense, is extremely cumbersome to use, is missing some functionality that would be desirable, is very slow and it just generally sucks.

Disney would've been much better off going and a partnership with Opentable and used a derivative of their system. It's extremely easy to use, fast and provides all report information in the very concise format. They could setup each area as a city and then all the restaurants in each area would appear together. In Opentable you can put in a date and it will show you all the restaurants in that city that have reservations available near that time. Very fast and simple.

Disney keeps getting hung up developing their own systems and adding on to existing ones instead of taking the opportunity to break the mold and use a proven system. Actually based on their present philosophy of outsourcing everything using Opentable would make a lot of sense!

If you've never tried it, try it and see how simple a well written reservation system can be! Opentable

So has anyone used the online for CRT and are on the dining plan?? Did the system recognize that you were on the dining plan?? I am a little nervous about it.

Yes, this morning! I booked CRT (and Norway) for September free dining. It required a credit card to make the reservation as a guarantee, but did not charge my credit card (the amount charged showed $0.00). When I made some additional online reservations for our July trip, without the dining plan, I had to pay up front and it showed the amount charged.

Ok so what time can we start booking out adr's? Ive heard different times..midnight, 3am, 5am, 6:01am and 7am. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks:)

So I don't know if this has been mentioned before (It probably was) but I was able to cancel my over-the-phone reservation online, which was great!

Still no Coral Reef for an earlier time.. but that's okay, because I got my Biergarten reservation for later. :)

Its the same deal for us that booked thru TA's. We get the shaft because we used a travel agent??? We still payed our $$$ to Disney. I think this stinks.

The TA can book the dining at 90+10, through the TA part of the dining system. And it works pretty well, when its working. We've had it since about May 11.

The TA works for you, and the reason for booking with an agent is service after booking. Check with your agent and agency. The Disney specialists (the travel agent planners) should be able to take care of this with no problem, but not all book the dining. If they do not, then you need to call it in to Disney Dining.

Well that stinks. So everyone else gets a 1 hour start. [...] The whole calling thing is a nightmare!!! BOO

Is it just me, or do you sometimes wonder if we take this all just a little bit too seriously? It's a ONE HOUR difference we're talking about. Over a 90 day period. And for a couple of restaurant choices out of hundreds of options.

:rotfl::lmao: and my ADR day is tomorrow! Hmmm...should I wake up @ 3am PST & do it online or 4am PST & call WDW-DINE? Such decisions!! :rotfl2:

Actually it does take me to the old blue screen, but my favorites are there and if I click on one, it opens up the new screen at the restraurant I want. It sould like you just have some old favorites on that screen, that need to be deleted or updated. I did notice you can have more than one page of favorites. I used this several times yesterday and it worked perfectly.

My problem is that it is not holding all of my favorites. I can't seem to get Tutto Italia, Tusker House, or Yak & Yeti (among others) to stay in there. I can put them in, but then when I go back they're not there.:confused3

Got a question: I'm probably going to be on the DxDDP and so will have alot of ADRs to make. I'm planning on trying for several popular places, including two Le Cellier ADRs (lunch and dinner). I'll be going after those two first thing. If I'm lucky enough to get them, put them in my cart, then continue adding other ADRs, is there anyway I could lose them from the cart. In other words, if you don't check out immediately are the ADRs still available for someone else to get? How long can I continue to shop without checking out and not lose the ADRs in the cart?:confused3

I cannot get onto the online ADR booking system. Everytime I choose a restaurant I get 'system error'

Anyone else getting this too?

Mandy :)

You will have 2 hours from the time you out them in your cart to check out. As long as you remain active on the site during that time, they will "hold" those ressies for you. If you become inactive for 20 minutes, you will lose whatever is in your cart.

A message explaining that will come up after you add one to your cart. Good luck! :thumbsup2

Since you were on there before 6am, try refreshing the page. I did my +10 yesterday, and about 5:50 it showed I could still book through the 26th. At exactly 6am, I refreshed the page and it opened up the 27th for me. I just booked CRT for that day.
