One night hotel need help/advise

We, myself, DD and DS will be checking out of CSR on a Saturday morning, picking up DH, DM and DSD from the airport. We need a place to stay Saturday night before heading out on DCL Sunday. I would love to stay someplace along DTD to jumpstart everyone's excitement before the cruise.

The problem, I have no clue how far it is from WDW to the airport and back towards DTD as well as DTD to Port Canaveral. Their plane arrives at 2:00 and I would love to eat at House of Blues and see some of the shops at DTD that night.

I would greatly appreciate any advise on where to stay.

You may want to check out the cruise line forum section. I've heard nice things about some hotels near the port.
Do you have a car?
It's about 30 minutes (at least) from WDW to airport, then back. It may be tiring for kids. Are they older? I think they may get tired. My kids would be too tired to go out at night a lot after a disney vacation. I don't remember how far it is from disney to port canaveral. An hour or more at least I think.
I am looking forward to the Royal Plaza in August - got an exec. suite from the mousesavers.com special - free breakfast. DTD has many choices.
You'll want to get up bright and early to head to the cruise ship - I've heard that from countless folks who fly down day before just to do that. You don't want to start out your cruise tired. Plus once aboard the fun begins! I think if you decide, there are places on the beach there so you could drop your car and enjoy the beach instead, then not rush in the morning.
