Since my earlier post about the OKW ferry went over so well;), I'll try another.

One evening, we went down to the dock at VWL to see the Electric Water Pageant. There was a family waiting for the boat to Ft. Wilderness. They had been swimming at WL.

I'd like to think that guests staying at Ft. Wilderness are not entitled to use the pools at WL.

Okay, fire away.:D :D :D :D

It would seem logical that they should not be able to use the WL pool. Does Fort Wilderness have it's own pool, or do they just have the little beach area?

Last time we stayed at WL, we were "carded" quite frequently at the main pool. This was in June when it was very busines. I think WDW are experts at crowd control, and I'm satisfied that if they were concerned about un-authorized use of a pool, they'd deal with it... and they do. If they're not concerned, then we needn't be concerned either.

Possibly they're less concerned in off seasons, and perhaps they even use this time to encourage guests to try out other resorts.

possibly DVC members. I stayed at the GF (on points) in September, monorailed to CR and ferried over to WL to play in the pool. (after I swam at the CR pool) Didn't feel like changing and driving.

I heard them talking about going back to Ft. Wilderness. They definitely were not pool hopping from the GF.

My understanding is the only people allowed to pool hop at Disney are Card-carrying DVC members staying on points. That said if the pool wasn't too crowded I wouldn't make an issue of it. It's Disney's problem.

To clarify further, I believe pool hopping only extends to DVC members, staying on points, and at a DVC resort.

So, member or not, it makes no difference if you're at FW or at GF on points, pool hopping privilege is not included as part of that stay.

I just looked it up: you must be staying at a DVC resort to be eligible for pool hopping according to the policy on the member's site.

We were at VWL probably the same time DVCREG was (11-24 / 12-6) and the pools were no where near crowded so it really doesn't bother me if a guest from another RESORT swims there. HOWEVER, if we're talking about a non resort staying local parasite,I don't care if the pool is dead empty and there's dust on the lounge chairs: STAY THE OUT !!!
