We are going to be spending one day at MGM and one at Magic Kingdom. Does anyone know what time the tickets go on sale and if the lines to purchase are long? We will be there 4/22 and 4/23.

Thanks,
Heidi

Sorry I can't help you out on when the ticket booths open but here is some info from Mousesavers.com that can save you some time and money. ~:D~

One-Day/One-Park Ticket
Provides admission for one day, to one of the major parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, or Animal Kingdom.
$53.25 Adults (10 and older); $42.60 Children (3-9)

Add a second day of One-Day/One-Park admission when buying the first day and save $5 plus tax on the additional day (expires 4 days after purchase):

$101.18 Adults (10 and older); $79.88 Children (3-9)

Add a third day of One-Day/One-Park admission when buying the first and second day and save a total of $10 plus tax on the additional days (expires 6 days after purchase):

$149.10 Adults (10 and older); $117.15 Children (3-9)

Call your local Disney Store in the mall & ask if they sell tickets, ours does.
You might want to consider a 4 day hopper. The days never expire, prices go up almost every year & you can use them for your next trip. The good thing about hoppers is the ability to leave one park & go to another park that closes later, like maybe for fireworks. With the one park/one day pass, you are stuck in one park, period.
Have fun!

The ticket booths and Guest Relations at the major parks open at 8:00 am. If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can purchase your single day tickets at Guest Services there as well.

Be sure to ask for the 2 day/2 park ticket. This will save you $5 from buying two individual one park tickets.

Some people don't want or can't afford to get PH's (over $100 more in OP's case) while others don't care about park hopping.

Little known ticket fact: If you are the type of person who doesn't like to park hop and will only go to one park per day, it is actually cheaper to buy a 3 day/3park ticket and a 1 day/1 park ticket ($202.35 combined) than to buy a 4 day PH ($204.49 advance/$211.95 at the gate).

Sorry for hijacking post, but I wanted to thank GoldenOldie for always answering ticket questions so thoroughly. While researching for my sister's trip, I discovered that the 3-day/3 park ticket and 1-day/1 park ticket cost less than a 4-day hopper, but I thought I had to be adding wrong for it to be less!

Oh you are very welcome. Disney ticket media is a very complicated subject. We all know Disney doesn't make anything easy if they can avoid it.

I just try to help folks navigate through the quagmire of Disney tickets. There are so many variables to each person's situation that there is no one stock answer even to a question that has been asked by someone else. Everyone's situation is unique.

Glad I could help someone. That's my whole function here.
