It seems I spoke to soon on Lisa's improvement, she had a little set back Wednesday while Rachel and I were at the school with Bandit. Christian was in the middle of a phone interview and David had just finished his laundry and came down to find Lisa in tears. As he put it, he did his best with his limited ability and knowledge. I was proud of him, he did a great job of just being there for her. She did make it to ballet and seemed fine when Rachel and I got home at 9:30 last night; however, she was back up at midnight, c/o a sore throat. I gave her some Tylenol and water, snuggled her for over an hour, then put her to bed...and I just put her back to bed at 4 am, she felt a bit warm. Please keep the prayers coming. I don't need/want "normal" illness on top of "Lisa" illness stuff!
Rachel had an amazing experience at her Veterinarian Explorers post Wednesday night. They were observing a dog being spayed and they asked who wanted to scrub in...Rachel volunteered, along with most of the post. They put their names in a hat and Rachel was chosen along with another girl. When I picked Rachel and her friend up they were so excited and animated...as they put it, the entire post bonded over surgery. Rachel was allowed to cut and remove one of the ovaries...she said it made her feel very close to me to have scrubbed in and was thinking of me and Lisa the entire time (I was an OR nurse, among my varied nursing career experiences and Lisa has been through so much).
Claiming today to be a better one. I canceled Lisa's testing today, due to her set back yesterday and in view of the fact she was up half the night, that seems to have been a great call. Now we only have two MD appts and Rachel has School of Rock. The only bad thing is we had to push Lisa's tests off for a bit longer. MANY THANKS for your concern, messages of support and prayer!
