One became SEVEN?!? How did THAT happen? 4/24 UPDATE

I loved the picture of Rachel and liked it on Facebook for good measure. :goodvibes

I am sorry Lisa is still not well. I know it is a rough time of year for her to be ill, praying she improves soon. I honestly don't know how you keep it all together and stay sane. :grouphug:

Yay for Rachel with the pic and getting to assist in a surgery! Lifting Lisa up in prayer.

My Friday, the 13th...

About 4:15 AM yesterday I heard Bandit in the hallway. Thinking one of the girls were up, I opened the door to find him in the music room. I went down to check on the girls and he went in to our bedroom, where he proceeded to have diarrhea in multiple locations...yes, it is as bad as it sounds. I managed to clean it all up in the dark with the light from the hallway (and yes, I have carpet). Pete slept through it all. Rachel went back later and scrubbed it some more...then David went back and scrubbed it just in case....arent they wonderful!

At 8AM I called the pediatrician's office and got Lisa an appt. for 9:20. She was so teary eyed and not feeling well, it took us an hour to get her ready...this is definitely not like her. She is so weary of all of this and just tired of being sick. We got back home about 11 AM, they are setting up more PT for her and we will add another specialist to the mix. Being the Christmas season, that takes time and so we wait. She told me she didnt feel like she could go to the Victory Junction Gala and of course I told her she didnt have to. I am trying hard to let her do what she feels up to, but not push her.. She went upstairs and put of her jammies and I saw the first smile of the day. They are getting fewer and farther between. I made all of the calls I needed to to let everyone know Lisa and I would NOT be at the Gala and Pete and the older three WOULD be. Then I sat and held Lisa while I prayed over her. She is so sad it is Christmas, she told me she wished it wasn't, it doesn't feel like it because she is so sick. It breaks my heart.

It was time for lunch and while I was preparing it, I got a not so great phone call. I dealt with that and then got the mail...two unexpectedly high bills NOT covered by insurance...they try any and always to finagle out of paying what they SHOULD! That wasnt the worst thing in the mail though...Lisas voice teacher has decided to leave Community School of the Arts! This could NOT come at a worse time, with Lisa so ill and fragile. She LOVES Julie and Julie has done so much extra for Lisa, playing at The Evening Muse so she could perform every month, helping her learn some piano and just so much more. She has voice classes for free to teach Yoga and breathing techniques, she has two extra performances opportunities every year for her students ay her Extravaganza...it is just a HUGE loss for us! She is going to open up her own studio, I just cant afford her, Lisa has a 90% scholarship at CSA and I dont have an extra $160 to pay for her to teach Lisa. CSA will hire another vocal instructor, but it will not be the same, it has taken Julie 2.5 years to understand Lisa and to really get her medical concerns/needs...and to FINALLY work with us on things that have helped Lisa in a therapeutic way. I have not told Lisa yet, this is going to be a huge blow to her and she is so vulnerable right now. Also in the mail, I had a lovely surprise from a friend, a beautiful card, inspirational bible quotes book and four little wooden angel ornaments for the children to paint. It was so kind!

Right after that, Rachel came flying downstairs, Bandit had thrown up and I was very concerned! He had not eaten much of anything all day after the diarrhea episode. I called our vet, who was off..but they said to bring him right in, another doc would see him. She fell in love with him (of course). THANKFULLY his labs were okay, she thinks he might have eaten something that didnt agree with his tummy. She gave him some IV saline to counteract any dehydration, sent him home with some special food and told him to rest. Christian and Rachel had taken him and Christian was kind enough to call me from the parking lot to give me the good news. I was SO relieved! (For those who dont know, Bandit nearly died in January 2011 from a strange/unknown illness and we dont take chances or anything for granted and our vet gives us Bandits care for free, we are BLESSED).

Lisa had made a Christmas ornament that needed to be laminated, so while they were gone to the vet I decided to laminate it. I got everything set up, then sat down in Christian's chair to cut and laminate...and as soon as I sat down, his chair fell apart, breaking beyond repair (Much like the chair in the Goldilocks and the Three Bears). Thank goodness it was ME and not Christian! I injured my head, shoulder, hand, knee and ankle..and wrenched my back...(I hit the wall and floor). There was a missing nut on one of the screws, it was an accident waiting to happen...and it did. I managed to finally get up off of the floor once I could get David and Lisa to stop hovering over me. I wanted to just cry, but that would have upset them. David immediately tightened each and every kitchen chair to ensure no more accidents! But I am down one chair!

Christian and Rachel got back home and it was go time, they all had to run get dressed for the gala. Pete came home, changed his clothes and they were off, all looking beautiful and swanky! I told Lisa we could do whatever she wanted...she wanted to watch some Duck Dynasty...and we did...4 (maybe 5) episodes. I confess...until two weeks ago I had never seen it and now it is my new favorite guilty pleasure...I love it! I kept asking Lisa if she wanted to watch something else, play a game etc...she wanted to lie on the couch, with Bandit lying on her and just talk occasionally and watch TV...I was okay with that! Then we watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Pete and the children were home.. I was relieved!! They had a great time and were back home, safely in our house. Lisa and Bandit FINALLY got up off of the couch, so Lisa could eat a cookie they brought her, then she went upstairs to play her ukulele and sing...which was music to my ears!

Bed was shortly thereafter for the girls and I was able to get a hot bath and soak my aching body parts.

The End.

One of my nephews gets married later today in Concord. The weather is going to be cold and nasty...43 for a high and 100 percent chance of rain...please pray Lisa feels like going!

Gail, Please check your PM box. I have tried to email you four times this AM and it keeps bouncing back for some reason...I love technology....

Hi Judy, Read your PM and replied back to you.

You know that we are all saying prayers for Lisa whenever the Lord brings her to mind. Your Friday the 13th was not a good one. Judy, you are making the right decision to allow Lisa to make choices about participating in events or activities on how she is feeling. I'm sure having you all to herself was a big boost towards her feeling better. Glad she enjoyed an evening watching Duck Dynasty and the Grinch movie with you and Bandit.

Wish Lisa can continue to have Julie as her voice teacher.

Hope that Bandit is still feeling better this morning and glad that it's not anything more than something he ate that didn't agree with him. Poor guy...give him a hug from Tiffy!

Ouch on your "Goldilocks and the 3 bears" fall from the break up on your kitchen chair. Hope the hot bath helped on the aches and pains.

Have a wonderful time at your nephew's wedding and that Lisa is feeling up to going.

Just said an extra prayer for your family. Would you please PM me your address? I had it at one time, but can't find it now. Thanks.

Judy, My friend - what a Friday the 13th. I do hope you are recovering from your tumble. I am sorry to hear Lisa is still not feeling better. Poor girl, praying she gets better soon so she can start getting in the Christmas spirit. I hope little bandit is better, and it was just something he ate, nothing more serious!
Glad that Pete, Christian, David and Rachel had a great time at the gala.

Hugs all around

Hope you make it to the wedding!

Tracy, I hope you get to fly on that Mickey plane!! That would be so fun. Southwest has a SeaWorld one with penguins that I have been hoping to get on my last few flights to Orlando but no luck.

Finals are here and they are brutal but I get to go home Saturday for five weeks so I am keeping my eyes on the prize!!
Penguins on a plane! Sounds cute, but I think it's kind of luck to get the cool planes.
Hope your finals went well, and Whoohoo for a five week break!

Crazy, crazy here; still having issues with insurance over the car repair, Ezra having some behavior problems at school again (hopefully temporary due to holiday excitement, etc.), friend diagnosed Friday with cancer and she is losing her insurance end of the year but can't afford Obamacare and doesn't qualify for stipend, the list goes on and on. I remind myself that we are so fortunate to have one another, especially this time of year and am trying to focus on the reason for the season instead of getting caught up in all the "extras". Benjamin's holiday concert is tonight at school. He is so nervous about it but I know he will do great, he's been practicing so much he has his part down solid...AND he got bumped up to first-chair trumpet in the middle-school band even though he's only been playing since September, I am SO proud of him and his hard work. I think he has found a niche for himself with music, it is so good for a non-competitive, non-athletic and not very social child to have an outlet like that. I am hoping next year finances will ease up a bit and we can afford lessons for him outside of his band class.
Sorry to hear about everything you have going on. But how great that Benjamin has been doing so well in Band!!

Oh Judy! What a horrible day for you, Lisa, and Bandit. But it sounds like it ended on a better note enjoying some relaxing tv time on the couch.

Glad the others were able to enjoy the gala.

Praying you and Lisa will be all better soon. Thank goodness you two have a month before your trip and it didn't happen any later down the road.

I took JJ for his neurologist appointment yesterday. We didn't get good news. His labs were way off, so now I have to make more appointments with other doctors to deal with those issues. She also added another antiepileptic med. I'm concerned with a few of the side effects of this one.

Oh my! Judy, your cup runneth over....with crap! Maybe that was the wrong choice of words given what was going on with Bandit. (Again, I know that you get my stupid sense of humor.;)) In all seriousness, I know that you and Lisa and everybody else is ready for all of this sickness to go away so things can return to some semblance of normalcy. You know that I have you on my prayer list!

I will also pray that the new voice coach is even more amazing with Lisa than the one that is leaving. It's tough being patient while God reveals His plan to us. But, as you well, know, we can rest assured that there IS a plan and we will be better for it.

Aren't the Duck Dynasty folks the funniest things E-V-E-R? We get so tickled at them 'cause a lot of the stuff they say and do is the same as us. Now if I could just get a bunch of A&E camera crews to follow us around and pay us a couple of mil per episode.

Don't know if you remember or not but they are right here in our hometown. Pass them and see them all the time. Willie & Korie just bought my bro-in-law's house. As a matter of fact, the Duck Commander Christmas is going on right now. The town had braced for about 40,000 people and are having to bus people in. To me, it looks like there are more folks here than just 40,000. Mama said that she heard on the 6 p.m. news that the count has risen to 75,000!

Sending lots and lots of hugs and prayers to ya'll!

Judy, I wish I was there to give you a Hug. How do you manage to do it all and stay positive? I think you are going through much more than we can ever imagine. I hope it helps to know we are praying for you.

Oh Judy I am so sorry Lisa is feeling so poorly. Bless her heart! It is so hard to see how illness takes such a toll on these kids. :grouphug: I really hope she starts to feel better soon. I hope Bandit feels better soon too. I can't imagine how scary it is for him being sick again. Glad to hear his labs looked ok. Hopefully he will be back to his spunky self soon.

Ouch ouch ouch!! It sounds like you took a very hard fall off of that chair. Healing hugs and prayers for you!

Bills definately have a way of showing up at the worst time and unexpectedly. I am so right there with you!

How tough for you all to lose such a wonderful teacher. She sounds like a very special lady.

Judy - the morning of my 40th birthday I woke up to find my doggie had been sick all over the floor. It is a "crappy" way to start the day!

Just wanted to share some really good news = after a 3 month screening process, my youngest was awarded a full tuition scholarship at the school of her dreams. the value is $140,000. We feel very blessed, she is the youngest and we are pretty tapped out after paying for the first two. :woohoo:

Aw Judy, that sounds like a brutal Friday the 13th. I hope the rest of your weekend was much better :( praying for poor Lisa and Bandit.

I am home from college for five weeks and I am very, very happy to be home! Today was a lazy day. I looked through all the photos from our recent trip and that was about the only productive thing I did :lmao:. My mom got some really good ones.

Had a chance to talk to Judy today and she has a bad cold. Please pray for her and continue to pray for Lisa. Hard not to catch something when you are in the doctor's waiting room surrounded by people who are sick. Get well quickly Judy!

Thank you for the update. :goodvibes I don't know how Judy doesn't stay ill with all of the stress too, she is a remarkably strong lady. I am praying for the entire family. Please do get well quickly Judy. :grouphug:

Judy, I am so sorry to hear about Lisa. Praying as hard as I can that she starts feeling better soon. I hope your cold gets better too (I got one yesterday and all I want to do is go to bed).
