Once Upon A Time

dh and i were thinking...what if snow and emma were transported to netherland? Mulan said something to the effect of their home was destroyed and they found a place of refuge (or something like that) We noticed alot of water...I think captian hook will arrive in "that world." Just a thought...Love this show, it totally keeps you guessing:happytv:

We just got back from disney, and watched the show today. I got something right. :thumbsup2

Now, i have to get caught up on the thread. :goodvibes

I guess I'll be the first to post for tonight's episode. I thought it was a really great episode. I always love seeing more of Hook because he is amazingly good looking and charismatic. I also liked getting to see Daniel again thought it could have had a happier ending. Obviously though the main revelation in tonight's episode was finding out who Dr. Whale (who's name doesn't really make sense) is in fact (spoilers if you haven't seen it) Dr. Frankenstein. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand I think it is a kind of cool revelation and an unexpected turn but on the other hand it is not world I expected to be brought into the story. At first I thought he was going to be the Wizard of Oz due to the fact that they had that globe and talked about slippers and then immediately started talking about a wizard/doctor. I was not expecting him to be Dr. Frankenstein at all until the end. What did you all think?

I love Lana Parrilla and thought she did a fantastic job with tonight's episode. That said, this is probably the first episode that I really didn't like. I get that they needed some sort of closure (was it closure?) between Daniel and Regina, but this whole Frankenstein bit was too much for me. I also found myself wondering why Aurora is even there? Hopefully there's a big payoff for her in the end. Also, poor Henry was a central character last season and is pretty much just an "oh, by the way" so far this season.

I didn't really care for the episode, either. Really, the only part that was interesting was with Hook and the setup for the beanstalk and giant.

Unless it's going to be part of the continuing plot, I really don't get the purpose of Whale being Dr. Frankenstein and why we need to know that. I really hope the writers are going somewhere with that reveal because otherwise this episode feels like it was written for Halloween and not one to really further the story. When Hook wasn't on the screen, it wasn't even fun to watch!

I didn't either. DH got it and said it was an in-joke. The director of the movie Frankenstein was James WHALE. Hence the character name in OUAT.

I loved the ep and ITA that the actor playing Hook is very good looking. And I  his accent!

Was I the only one who started to get choked up with the whole thing between Regina and Daniel at the end? Losing Daniel the first time is what put her on the destructive path in the first place. And this time, she realized that she had to let him go even though she didn't want to. Looks like she is really trying to change. I also think that Cora will be coming to Storybrook and that Regina will team up with everyone to fight her.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of the storyline in FTL. Don't get wrong, I like what's going on in Storybrook, but I miss FTL and want to see more of it.

I enjoyed this episode because it had a lot of Jefferson in it. :) I love Jefferson and seeing more of his back story.

Can't wait for next week and I agree what is the point of aurora? Up until now she has had very little too do and is a bit of a meh. She's my favorite princess and isn't doing much an its upsetting to me.

Loved the oz reference.

In what story would Dr. Frankenstein and Rumplestiltskin interact? This was too over the top for me. I didn't like it. I thought most of it was overacted, too. Season One had me on the edge of my seat and charmed at the same time. Season Two has me going "what?" a lot. Not because I don't follow the story but I just don't like what I'm seeing.

The only thing I enjoyed today was the eye candy. Hook, Jefferson, and David (loved when he punched Whale), always a pleasure. Otherwise, I was very let down.

I hope next week is better. I love the idea of Hurley as the Giant. I loved him on Lost :thumbsup2

I want Henry to get out his book and show me where Dr. Frankenstein has a place in this story. I never thought of him as a fairy tale character. Maybe they threw it in for Halloween. I am so excited for Jorge Garcia (Hurley on Lost) to be on next week as the Giant. He was my fave on Lost and I've missed him!

Maybe Storybrook incorporates more stories than just fairy tales and thus would include fictional characters such as Dr. Frankenstein? Just trying to make a little sense out of it as that does not fit in with the story line so far.

Mulan is not a fairy tale character correct? She was created strictly for the movie if I am not mistaken. If so then I guess Frankenstein has as much place in the story as she does.

I've finally caught up to the rest of you! I'm still taking in the story since I rushed through the first season and Season II episodes so I can read the whole thread. I was pretty careful not to read past the episodes I was watching, and it was hard not to respond. lol

This is such a good series that I'll wait for another episode or two before taking them to task.

I doubt Whale/Frankenstein would be in the book at all... Regina said, "I brought who I wanted to" I took that to mean she brought him there specifically to have him try to bring Daniel back again after the curse was broken. I also think this was an important episode- I feel she DID get closure- she got to say goodbye to Daniel and he told her to "love again" as his dying wish.

I said earlier, and someone else just said- Cora is the new villain in this story.

I really hated the Dr. Frankenstein thing last night. It just didn't fit.
Sigh.....this season is not doing so well.

Actually, Mulan is a Chinese historical figure.

WHERE IS PINOCCHIO??? We had those couple glimpses of him, and of Geppetto entering his apartment, and then NOTHING.

I really like what they're doing with Regina, and am rooting for her to pull it together and become a good guy once again.

The Dr Frankenstein part was pretty bizarre, but I was okay with it.

I just want Peter Pan to come into the story in FTL already.

I didn't mind last night's episode, although it certainly wasn't one of my favorites!

I wondered if the inclusion of Dr. Frankenstein was to set the precedent of Rumplestiltskin being able to visit "other" lands. Literary lands, I mean. I loved Jefferson as the vehicle to do this. It would also open up a whole slew of new characters.

Just my 2 cents.
