Once Upon A Time

I'm ok with the whole Dr. Frankenstein thing, but I am a bit ticked that there was all this build up and mystery attached to Whale's identity. There was no way anyone could have possibly guess or figured out that Whale is Frankenstein.

EWWWWW!!! No Edward Cullen none of those twilight twit's:headache:

Agreed...lets hope they don't get carried away. I'm thinking the science is more powerful than magic thing is important to the story line (or at least it better be). If they start just throwing random book characters at us I think I'm done. If Nancy Drew or Pippi Longstocking show up in Storybrooke I'm probably going to be angry...lol

ETA- I agree Whale has to be the Wizard of Oz too. What was all that with the crystal ball and they couldn't get the slippers? It just makes sense.

Arrogance? Or maybe his world has both magic and science, and he prefers science. I have a theory that Frankenstein is the Wizard of Oz, in the same way Rumpel is the Beast and the Crocodile, and Oz is split into a magical half and a non-magical, black and white half, with a rainbow separating the two. But that's just a theory.

I agree with your theory completely. Especially since the new movie Oz is coming out next March. No, this doesn't all have to tie into that movie and likely won't at all, but it helps move the theory along of all the different lands being reachable. Oz, over the rainbow where The Great and Powerful landed from the real world in his hot air balloon, bringing science to a magical land.

One thing I'm surprised no one has mentioned, is the objective of those in FTL 2.0 . They are seeking a very special compass. Sound familiar? Like the one found in a certain movie based on a certain ride that resides in a certain "happiest place on Earth."

Any speculation as to who Henry's dad is?? Now that we have Jack & The Beanstalk and Frankenstein added to the mix, it really could be anybody's guess!

I think it was that guy we saw at the beginning of the season premiere, and/or Rumpel's son.

He's also probably the fourth or fifth person I've named as Rumpel's son and it's gotten to the point where my mom laughs at me every time sooooo.....

I thought the same thing!

Ok I'm just not with it tonight

What movie based on what ride???

I am drawing a blank

Oh my god. I should be kicked out if the Disney club

I can't believe I missed that. Totally missed it

I was going through every ride in my head but never got to adventureland

I wondered about that. I guess I'm just waiting with bated breath. I love POTC, so I don't honestly know how I'd feel about that. I'll wait and see.

My first thought at the beginning of the episode was Oz due to the fact that Jefferson brought Rumple a crystal ball and was talking about how he couldn't get the slippers and Rumple said those were what he needed because they could take you from a magical land to a non magical one like they did with Dorothy.

The producer I think said in Entertainment Weekly that Johnny Depp is Jack Sparrow so my guess would be that unless they could get him to be in the show they wouldn't venture too far into that territory.

I was going to post the same thing. They said Johnny Depp IS jack Sparrow sooooo, they are not planning to touch that (unless he wants to join the cast, lol) One can hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could go for a touch of Jack Sparrow.

I didn't mind last night's episode, although it certainly wasn't one of my favorites!

I wondered if the inclusion of Dr. Frankenstein was to set the precedent of Rumplestiltskin being able to visit "other" lands. Literary lands, I mean. I loved Jefferson as the vehicle to do this. It would also open up a whole slew of new characters.

Just my 2 cents.
Yes that is what i was thinking as well

:yeahthat: about Pinocchio. I really want to know where that storyline went.

This is kind of how I feel too. I wasn't "omg I love this" about this episode, but I think I "get" it. The fact that there are other worlds is important, and so is the fact that Rumple can move around in them (through Jefferson, and dang do I love him! Between him and Hook and those Brad Pitt Chanel commercials I'm all atwitter ;) ). And the fact that Jefferson's hat can go between ANY magical lands, not just Wonderland. Kind of like the beans.

I don't love Charming (David). Blah. And Aurora better DO something soon!

I like what some of you have said about the whole Dr. Frankenstein thing opening up possibilities to other non-fairy tale worlds. It could really make things crazy and in a weird way I guess it makes sense that some how all fictional characters could interact. Also I just wanted to add that my favorite part of the episode was getting to see more Hook and Jefferson (I really think I have a thing for guy liner). I can't wait to see next weeks episode with Hurley. I really hope they throw at least one "Dude" in there like "Why did you dudes climb up my beanstock?" Lol!

LOVE HURLEY and hope he is a great character!!!

so my two cents on the Dr Whale thing.. Did you hear him ask Regina why he came and not his brother?? I was unaware that he had one? I was expecting that the "Frankenstein" who had one of Regina's hearts to be the one in Storybrooke but she needed Dr Whale's magic to get Daniel back - I did feel sorry for her but I wonder if she picked a heart (someone nicer) if it would have been different or would have it had been the same??
