Once Upon A Disney Wish Live Updates

Expect that lighthouse point will be the eventual private island destination for the wish... and have many more cabanas.

With a private pool on the concierge sundeck, I don't think they'll have any trouble fully booking concierge even without the ability to book CC cabanas.

It's too bad they didn't add a regular pool on the sundeck.

"From the Lounge, Concierge Guests can access a sun deck on Deck 13 Forward. Soak up the sun at this VIP onboard oasis and savor tranquil breezes, 2 whirlpools, a wading pool, cushioned lounge chairs, and a full bar stocked with water and refreshments."

I was hoping for a Haven type area. It looks like DCL just added more rooms, made the lounge and sundeck bigger and are giving us complimentary wifi.

Me too or even like the Yacht Club on MSC. The Yacht Club pool deck offers pool cabanas. If you book one of their Royal Suites a pool cabana is included for the length of your cruise. Hopefully, Lighthouse Point will offer a concierge area on the beach like many of the other cruise lines private islands.

does full bar mean alchohol? all the time?

It doesn't sound like it but that would be a nice, and relatively inexpensive for DCL, perk

Exclusively for Concierge Guests

As a Concierge Guest, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to dedicated areas on the ship, including the Concierge Lounge. Located amid the Concierge Suites on Deck 12 Forward, this stylish, modern retreat allows Guests to relax in quiet comfort, sip a cocktail (during select hours), access the Internet (fees may apply), watch news on the TV, and enjoy complimentary food and nonalcoholic beverages offered throughout the day.

I was talking about your earlier post about the concierge sundeck that said..........."and a full bar stocked with water and refreshments "

I'm in two minds about what's been announced.

It really seems to be "in-your-face Disney, all the time" on this ship. I totally get it's a Disney cruise, so expect lots of Disney. But almost everything they've unveiled - from the atrium, the restaurants, the bars, even the theming of the movie theaters and right down to the headboards in the staterooms - just seems like it could get exhausting very quickly depending on how "invested" you are in the Disney experience. And I say this as someone who loves their DCL trips. Feel like relaxing with a drink and separating yourself from the Disney experience for a bit? Go to Fathoms, Keys, the Meridian Bar, Ooh La La, Skyline. On the Wish? Don't even try it, it's Star Wars and Beauty and the Beast for you!

I'll get around to sailing on the Wish and her newer sisters at some point, and I'm hoping there's more in the coming announcements that will have a positive impression on me. Based purely on what has been released so far, it just doesn't appeal to me and what I enjoy on the earlier ships in the fleet.

I'm going to get ripped apart for this post, I'm sure.

Interesting. I thought the ship found the right balance for a Disney ship. Plenty of Disney, while maintaining the classic non-Vegas look that sets DCL apart from many other ships. I really like Disney trips, but I am not fanatical - I don't collect Disney stuff or decorate my house with Disney, for example. But I wouldn't be bothered at all with the décor they chose. Even the Beauty and Beast themed lounge looked subtle to me.

The themes in the dining rooms (he feels like it’s « too much Disney ») the lack of raunchy comedy shows and the price tag.

What I don’t get is that if it’s supposed to be based on Cinderella, why isn’t there more Cinderella?

When they said there was going to be some Beauty and the Beast stuff, I was hoping for a Be Our Guest restaurant on the ship. Instead, it’s a lounge.

I’m sure the restaurants will be okay. And the adult only ones will be good. I’m not a buffet person. And I didn’t really like Frozen.

The rooms look really nice.

But there is a lack of info on shows. I really liked the Aladdin show at Disneyland. And it was good on the Fantasy. But I was hoping for something new.

I think there needs to be more to do for the at sea days on this ship.

My guess is the alcohol availability will mimic the lounge.

New Year’s cruise 5-night is $14K for concierge verandah. I think you may be wrong - but not because you guessed high.
I think you're a little low.
I agree. that is closer to what concierge pricing is now for summer iteneraries
I think it will be definitely higher for the maiden voyage. Maybe around that price for the 4 night summer cruises. I just hope Concierge includes more exclusive perks than what they offer now. I saw on a FB post that the concierge description now includes complimentary wifi. Would love to see reserved concierge seating for shows.
I'll take the plunge.... :) Gonna be over $10k for sure. Maybe something in the range of $10-12k for Concierge Verandah.... $18k+ for the suites.
Wow, you guys are bumming me, LOL. I was hoping to go for concierge if it's still around by my low platinum time, but sounds like I won't have to worry. My guesstimate was based off the concierge pricing for June 2022 europe cruises. I think it was about $1200 per person per night, but that was for a 9- night cruise. I hadn't thought to look at the NY's cruise. Yikes! I agree--it will be much more expensive than that.

I hope it includes more for that price, too, and that they are able to retain the current private feel of concierge. That's what we love about it--being able to find a place that's more calm than the rest of the lively ship!

The Beauty & The Beast lounge... If they had not told us it was about B&B I wouldn't have known...

I love the look of the cabins.

Ok... I talked to the family's CFO (aka Dear Wife) :) She keeps a pretty close eye on the pricing stuff. She's of the opinion that Concierge Verandah (non suites) will be about $15k. She's just guessing too of course.... But DW is always right ;-)

Concierge Verandahs staterooms (3A) for June & July 2022 5 night cruises on the Dream out of Miami are $9,000+ and the 1 Bedroom Suites are $12,000+. I think the Wish MV will be at least double that.

That's exactly how I felt. The previous ships had a very elegant balance between Disney and Art Deco cruising, and as a Disney fan and a nautical fan, I found them exceptional. It feels like the Wish is really leaning in VERY hard on the Disney side of the equation. Now that may be a function of the first "Meet and greet" video, but the room views and snapshots of spaces do not fail to remind you exactly where you are. I certainly want Disney on these ships. That's part of the charm. But the overwhelming branding across the currently announced bars, restaurants, and room theming makes me feel like I'd be living in a Disney commercial or shareholders meeting presentation.

We will still be excited to take the Wish in the future, but I'm much more inclined to a 3 day outside the summer at this point.

Just to clarify ... $15k per person? My original guess a couple pages back was a total of $15k for two people in concierge verandah. But most people seem to think it will be much higher than that and given the prices of some of the shorter cruises now, I suspect they are right!

And I love that DW is always right. I need to get my DH on board with that, LOL.

The entertainment if taken too far can come off as a Medieval Times feel or a character meal. Both suggest lower quality food. That would be my biggest concern. I expect good meals on a cruise ship.
