Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

The costume came with a wig but it was so small. It looks like it would fit a baby. So, now I am stuck trying to do it. I wonder if I am going to need to put something in her hair to keep it in the little buns? Wire?:confused3

Ha, don't ask me, I can't do hair, especially buns! I would guess you would need a lot of bobby pins and hairspray. :confused3

WOO, getting close now!!! Arrival day is always the best! :goodvibes

WOOO HOOO!!! I can't wait!!!! I can't believe I still have next week to get through! Ughhhh!!!! I keep thinking I'm going next Friday, but it's not, it's the Friday after! :rotfl:

:rolleyes1 Just waiting for this week to go by...only Tuesday night...ugh! :rotfl: 17 days! 11 more days of work!

Another itinerary update!

Day 2, Saturday, 11/13

I'm sure I will wake up fairly early this morning, and depending on what time that is, I'm hoping to walk over to POFQ before Brandon gets up to get some of those famous beignets I keep hearing about!

POFQ-Food-2009-9833_large.jpg

Mmmmm...they must be SO good! If it's too late to do that, I guess I'll have to wait til another time, and (figure out another plan for breakfast)!

We won't have much time that morning because we will be headed to

1142388_f520.jpg

for

images.jpg

rope drop!!!! So we have to be out of the room by 8 am to make it there by the time rope drop starts...that should be enough time right, if MK opens at 9? I've never done rope drop before, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know! It starts like 15 minutes before the park opens, right?

Once rope drop is over and we are in MK, we will probably go to Fronteirland for this:

sm2.jpg

or possible Adventureland to go on this:

c1pic2.jpg

We will most likely do a few more attractions, or just walk around and look in the shops before it is time for our lunch ADR here:

Liberty-Tree-Tavern-Exterio.jpg

I can't wait to eat there! I already know what I'm going to order!

After lunch, we will most likely go back to POR

dxl49.jpg

for a nap or to go in the pool, depending on how tired we are! We will most likely take a quick nap since we have a long night ahead of us! :cool1:

We don't have a dinner ADR for this night, since we are going to Epcot for

EpcotFoodWineFestivalGuide2010-1.jpg

the food and wine festival! :cool1:

I'm sure we will be stopping here

Epcot_Food_Wine_Festival_09.jpg

and a few other booths that look interesting!

After exploring the food and wine booths, and maybe doing a few attractions, depending on when we get there, we will be hopping on the monorail

TronMonorailDisneyPic-300x214.jpg

to go back to

300px-Magic_Kingdom_Monorail_Entry_Arch.jpg

The Magic Kingdom for extra magic hours til 1 am!

Oh yes, and for this:

mkdessertparty099.jpg

The Wishes Dessert party!!! I cannot wait to be eating all those yummy desserts and watching Wishes!

mkdessertparty307.jpg

After Wishes is over, we will probably wander around, do a few attractions, but mostly we need time to admire this

IMG_0100-2.jpg

:lovestruc The castle with the dream lights! Even Brandon, who pretends not to get caught up in Disney magic, is amazed by the castle all lit up like this, how could you not be!

Once magic hours are over (or we get too tired to stand up anymore!) we will go back to POR and go to sleep quickly, I hope...we have to be up early again the next morning!

(all pictures found on google images, except for the last one of the castle!)

Sounds like a great day!

We walked from POR over to POFQ for the Beignets one morning. Not a bad walk. The Beignets were good, but we made the mistake of eating them at an outdoor table, which forced us to be much more pre-occupied with the powdered sugar blowing all over us than with the tasty experience.

I would think, this time of year, that you'd be fine leaving for MK about an hour before opening. I don't think we've seen the rope drop show at MK since our Sept. 09 trip, so I don't remember when it starts. :confused3

I think we'll be wandering Food & Wine when you are! Try not to fill up too much, as you'll want plenty of room left for sampling all those desserts at the Wishes Dessert Party. We went in June and were so full from eating earlier in the day that it was hard to really enjoy everything. The view of Tinkerbell is great from there, though!

I cannot wait to see the castle all lit up like that! :cloud9:

Oh, and according to the WDW website, MK is open until 2am that night now! :cool1:

I didn't even think about walking from POR to POFQ for beignets! I need to plan on that! When we stayed at POFQ last year we became very fond of the beignets! :thumbsup2

It sounds like day 2 is going to be action packed! It looks like so much fun! I can't wait to hear what you think about F&W and the Dessert Party! :goodvibes

Day 2 sounds awesome as well!

And,
1.) The beignets are AWESOME!! Definitely get those.

2.) I think 8am will get you to MK in plently of time to see rope drop. We always leave at 8am and always see it.

LOL, I'll have to remember not to eat beignets outside then! :rotfl: They sound SO amazing...especially after seeing Princess and the Frog! They looked so good in that movie, and it's a cartoon!

Ughhh I'm so annoyed with myself for booking that Wishes dessert party the night of Food and Wine, I just wasn't thinking when I booked it! The night before we can't eat much because of our Le Cellier ADR, and then Saturday we have the dessert party...oh well, I guess we will just have to sample more of the wine than the food!

I totally forgot the extended some of the hours in November, now I have to go back and reprint all of my park hours for my binder! I think DHS is staying open later too! :thumbsup2

Day 2 is definitely going to be long and tiring...but it will definitely be a lot of fun! We are going to need that break in between! I'll definitely take lots of pictures of F&W and the dessert party! :)

Thanks! I'm so excited about getting to try the beignets! I think leaving by 8am should be good too, but I'm going to tell Brandon we need to leave by 7:45, just to make sure we are out the door by 8! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

A perfect Day 2! Love it! Great pictures, too. You found everything you needed!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! Only 15 more days til my trip, which means it's time for another itinerary update! I'm trying to do one every other day, because the middle of next week is here, I won't even be able to think straight since I'll be so excited to be going to Disney the week after!!! :cool1:

Here are my Day 3 plans, Sunday, 11/14

We have to wake up pretty early, since we have a 7:45 breakfast ADR at

BomaSign-1.jpg

I can't wait to try their breakfast, I've heard nothing but good things about it! After breakfast we are planning on walking around AKL for a little while to do some exploring:

Poolwithresort.jpg

(I know Brandon is going to love this resort, so I'm hoping he wants to stay here next year! :rotfl:)

After seeing AKL, we will hop over to

Animal-Kingdom-Entrance.jpg

where I'm hoping to do the safari first thing

disney2009-ak-safarilogo.jpg

and then FINALLY see this:

BFC202.jpg

We will probably do a few more attractions and then go back to POR to rest a little or maybe swim a bit

port-orleans-riverside-76.jpg

Once we are rested, we will go here:

hollywood-studios-picture-002.jpg

I LOVE DHS, especially at night! :lovestruc Once we are here, we will head straight to the Osborne lights!

IMG_0184.jpg

I'm hoping we will get there early enough to catch them being turned on, but if not, not a big deal!

After seeing the lights and making a quick detour at the Tower of Terror, I'll try to convince Brandon to line up for:

fantasmic-sign.jpg

Fantasmic! We have been to WDW 3 times in the last 2 years and have only seen F! once in that time! And we were way in the back, so I could barely see anything! Brandon has no interest in standing in a line for a long time so I'm really hoping he will agree to seeing it this time! It's the 2nd show of the night so maybe it won't be too bad? :confused3

After possibly seeing F!, I'm hoping to convince Brandon to go back to MK for more magic hours! I mean, you can't possible see the castle too many times!

IMG_0561.jpg

Not sure what we will do, maybe Space Mountain, maybe some Fantasyland attractions, I just want to walk around and look at everything, especially the castle!

Once the park closes, we will go back to POR for some much needed sleep after another long day at WDW! :rotfl:

Have a great night everyone!

(Most pics from google images, except for a few that I took!)

Leaving by 8:00 should give you PLENTY of time to get to rope drop, granted there aren't any major transportation issues.

As far as when it starts, it's about 5-10 minutes before opening.

Another fun day! And a busy one! I can't wait to here how breakfast at Boma goes - I'm excited to try it on our trip too! I hope you like AKL - it really is a beautiful resort! :cloud9:

Oh, good! Do you think that is too early? :rotfl: There shouldn't be any transportation issues since we are renting a car, but there are so many steps involved...driving to MK, parking, taking the tram to the TTC, taking the monorail or ferry, then FINALLY getting to MK! This is why I LOVED the WL, you just hopped on a boat and you were there!:cool1:

Yeah our first few days are really packed! :rotfl: I'll take lots of pics at Boma for you, I'm sure we are going to love it! And I know I'm going to love AKL, just by looking at the pictures! :lovestruc I can't wait to see it in person!

How in the heck did I miss 2 updates????

Love, love, love Boma and Liberty Tree Tavern -- two good choices.

Your plans for both days sound really great (and tiring to me...but I'm a heck of a lot older than you).

I am so jealous that you get so much done during the day. I'm lucky if I can get a few hours out of John before he starts complaining.

I wish I was going during the Food and Wine festival. Eat an extra pierogie in Poland for me.

Liberty Tree Tavern sounds good. I was trying to fit it in but we don't spend much time in MK and I really want to try the Plaza. I saw the recipe for Oooey Gooey Tofffee Cake (is that the name) on allears and want to try to make it on Thanksgiving or something.

I tried the beignets on our trip and they weren't as great as I was expecting. I drove over there since I was doing laundry that morning and of course the person ahead of me ordered like 30 so it took forever. I finally got them and they were so hot I couldn't eat them right away. Make sure you give yourself enough time if you have plans to be somewhere.

MMMMMMMM....Boma. That's all I have to say about that.

AKL is so nice! The only thing that annoyed me is that there were no animals out when we were there. We could see something moving far away but other than that nothing! Caitlin was a little disappointed since I had told her about it.

Okay I'm back on the DIS after a very long work week! I love days 2 & 3! They sound great!! :thumbsup2

I want to go to the F&W festival sooo badly! That dessert and champagne sign had me drooling. I love champagne! But then again, who doesn't? ;)

I know I have said this a million times, but I can't wait to hear your review of the Wishes dessert party! :yay:

LOL I always miss people's updates!

So excited for Boma and LTT! It's weird, I never had any interest until LTT, and now I'm wondering how I ignored it for so long!:rotfl:

Trust me, the first few days are really long, crazy days, and I'm exhausted even thinking about them! If we didn't plan breaks in the middle of the day, it would NOT be possible! I'd never be able to spend ALL DAY in the parks with no break! And things calm down a little towards the end of the week! There's just so much going on that first weekend we are there, I can't miss anything! :rotfl2:

Yeah, we complain too, but whatever, we only have so many days there, I'd rather be doing stuff than sitting around, we do that enough at home! And the breaks in the middle of the day help.

MMMM I can't wait for that Toffee cake at LTT!

I want to try the beignets but if I can't get them in the morning, I'll squeeze it in somewhere. They seem like they will be good!

I can't wait to see AKL, I really want to stay there next year! The only way it will work is if we rent DVC points, which I don't know how to do, or is if we do a split stay with half of the week at Pop, which is fine with me! :rotfl: I don't really care about seeing the animals at AKL but it would have been nice for Caitlin to see them.

Ugh this week was SO long! Next week is going to be even worse! :rotfl: Days 2 and 3 are definitely gonna be fun, but TIRING!!!

I love champagne, but I love dessert more! I can't wait to try everything!

I know I've said this a million times, but I can't wait to go to the Wishes Dessert Party! It's going to be sooooo great, I know it! I'll take lots of pictures! :goodvibes

I'm catching up!! I can't believe the trip is so soon!!!!! Sounds like a busy day! I walked past the dessert party on Monday and glanced at it and it looked yummy but overpriced it seemed. I would still like to try it sometime though! I have to admit, the one and only thing I bought at F and W was a beer in the special mug...that's it. Thanks to the DDP, it left us all full and between the lines at the booths, we didn't partake as much as we thought!

Looks like a good Day 3 plan! 3 parks in one day! :woohoo:

We loved :lovestruc Boma's breakfast!!! (and I don't even like most breakfast foods) Yummy!

A safari, a resort break, the Osborne Lights, and a late night at the MK...sounds like a perfect day! :thumbsup2

A side note: I see for your Day 2 rope drop at MK you're planning on driving there. I've never had a car at WDW, so I can't vouch for this, but on the WDW Today podcasts that I listen to, they are big supporters of driving to all parks except for the MK. Because of the whole parking/tram/ferry/monorail thing, they say it takes longer to drive than to just hop on the Disney bus. Just thought I'd pass that along.

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your days!

Day 3 looks wonderful. I have never tried Boma breakfast, but I've heard it is supposed to be great! YUM!

:lmao: Yay for your illustrated itinerary! I'm glad you enjoyed my texting you this week :rotfl: I heard that Boma's breakfast is fantastic, so I hope you enjoy it!
