Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

Darn...I can't believe you got a respiratory thing. I hope those antibiotics work quickly.

And I'm with Brandon--DON'T cancel the dentist. Be sure and tell him exactly when it started hurting, how it hurts/feels, etc. You don't want this starting up again when you get to Disney.

Your two last day plans sound great!!! If you cancel Sci-Fi, what will you do with that TS? We really liked Sci-Fi (stick to the burgers and reuben and onion rings).

I will reply about my stupid sickness and my tooth at the end, so I don't have to do it like 5 times! :rotfl:

I'm not sure what we will do if I cancel Sci Fi...it's really just an idea. I have to really go through my itinerary and look to see what's available...I really want to try Chef's de France, ever since I canceled it for Le Cellier I've been trying to figure out a way to add it back in!

I also agree with Brandon - don't cancel the dentist! Just because it stopped hurting doesn't mean it won't start up again

I'm sure the respiratory thing will go away with the antibiotics. Just make sure you tell the dentist (if he wants to give you antibiotics) that you're already taking them and what for.

As for Sci-Fi, I really enjoyed it! I think Sharon did as well (she joined me at the last minute), but you'd have to ask her :lmao:

I think I would enjoy Sci Fi too, but I'm just not sure I want to do 2 TS meals on the last day, you know? And if I can find something better, I'd rather do that...we'll see! I'm sure I will end up keeping it, I was really looking forward to a milkshake! :)

I think the day of MVMCP will be a great time to not have any plans and just relax and rest up so you can have tons of fun at the party! :thumbsup2 And, I think dinner at LC, Illuminations and EMH is a great way to spend your final night at Disney. I hope you feel better soon! :goodvibes

Thanks! We did the same thing last year with MVMCP, we had breakfast at Chef Mickey's, then went over to the GF to see the decorations, and then had a nice relaxing day until the party and it worked out great! I love ending our vacation at Epcot EMH, it's my favorite park so there is really nowhere I'd rather be!

Plans sound great. Sorry to hear about the tooth and the illness. I hope you are 100% better by the time you get to WDW. Being sick at WDW is no fun! :sad2: Have a speedy recovery and good luck with the dentist! :goodvibes

Thanks!! :goodvibes

What did the dentist say?

Yeah, so what did the dentist say?

Ok, so here is what happened at the dentist: he basically poked around every which way, shoved some cotton in my mouth, sprayed cold air all over my teeth to see if any of them hurt, to which I said no, then he took an x ray, enlarged it, looked at every angle of my tooth on the x ray and couldn't find anything. So he said when I was eating my pistachios the other day, I probably just hit the tooth the wrong way and I basically sprained it. :confused3 I mean, he didn't say I sprained my tooth, he said that's the best way he could describe it, like when you sprain your ankle and it hurts for a few days but then it's fine, same thing with my tooth. He said I should get a crown eventually, but if I can't afford it, to at least replace the filling sooner or later. So I'm fine, my tooth is fine, and that's one less thing I have to worry about in Disney! Once I get back, I will probably make an appt. to get a crown on there but I'm not spending $1000 6 days before we leave to do it!

And my stupid respiratory illness, which is basically just a cough seems to be getting better! I slept until 10:30 yesterday morning, which I NEVER do, and then today I slept til 9 (again, late for me) and the antibiotics seem to be kicking in and I feel much better. The only thing bothering me now is a headache, but I just took some Excedrin and hopefully that will go away! So by the time I go to Disney, I should be perfect! :dance3:

6 more days!!!! I can't wait!!!! :yay: :woohoo::cheer2:

sorry for the sickness :( I had that before one trip as well!! You want to plan plan plan but you just don't feel up to it. FEEL BETTER, it's getting close!

Thanks! I feel ok, it's just the coughing that was really the problem and I don't seem to coughing as much anymore. I'm kind of glad I have the weekend to recover so hopefully by Monday I'll be ok! I could have went to work yesterday but I was so tired from not sleeping the night before I just needed to stay home and rest!

So you know how I've been hoping for an earlier ADR at Teppan Edo on Tuesday 11/16 so I could see Illuminations that night? I've been trying to get one for days and finally this morning I found one for 7:00 instead of 8:00! :cool1: Now I should definitely get to see Illuminations that night! Yay!!!

Great news on the tooth front -- well at least the pain. Sorry to hear you'll need a crown. You should ask your dentist if you can pay a little at a time (there is an organization called Care Credit. My son's bill for his "first" root canal (he'll need a second one) and his crown was $498 after insurance. They hooked me up with Care Credit and my payments are $27 a month for 18 months with NO interest (if I extended it past 18 months I would have to pay interest). I don't know if every dentist will let you use it, but it sure won't hurt to ask.

I'm glad your cough is getting better; the headache is probably the stress from everything. You'll be 100% by the trip.

Hooray for changing your ADR and now being able to see Illuminations.

haha, I cry at Illuminations (well, sometimes). The one song is very moving...We Go On. I love it!!!

:cool1::banana::yay: Sounds like a great night! Teppan Edo is fun and yummy and that should leave you enough time to get out and snag a viewing spot for Illuminations without having to worry during your meal. :thumbsup2

I had to have a ton of work done on my teeth a few years ago and this was before I had dental insurance I got Care Credit and it was great! I was able to pay it over time, so it didn't drain my bank account! :)

Okay, Dr. Joni is prescribing you: lots of fluids, lots of rest, lots of Vitamin C, and lots of DISboards. This will ensure a speedy recovery and a very happy Jen come Friday! ;)

YAY for an earlier Teppan Edo ADR! That's awesome that it worked out!

Wow, only 6 days and you will be in Disney!!!!! Sorry it has taken me so long since we got back to check in. Your plans sound like so much fun. Wanted to tell you how much we liked POR. The resort is so beautiful, peaceful, such a nice place to rest after a long day in the park. I enjoyed just walking around the resort. We were in Oak Manor and liked that area (not too far from the main building or the pool). They were doing some minor renovating while we were there (painting), but we didn't ever have any problems with it, and now I bet the building are all nice and spiffy.:) Let me know if you have any questions about POR and I will try to answer them.

Hope you are feeling back to normal soon. No fun to be sick. Glad your tooth is feeling better and there was nothing pressing to worry about.:goodvibes

Thanks! I knew I needed a crown, I just kept putting it off...now I guess I have no choice! The first dentist I saw actually got me approved for care credit, so I know I can use it if I need to. Now I don't know if I should just use my regular dentist or Brandon's dentist...:confused3

It's annoying, I only get a headache when I'm about to go to sleep and then I have it all night and I wake up with it. I'm almost thinking it's from the antibiotic, because I take it around 5pm and then I get all weird. It's messing with my stomach too, I'm glad I only have 2 more days of it so I can go back to normal soon! :rotfl:

haha, I cry at Illuminations (well, sometimes). The one song is very moving...We Go On. I love it!!!

Lol, I can cry at most Disney music...there is just something about Illuminations music! And Wishes...forget it, I could cry through the whole thing if I let myself! :rotfl2:

Thanks! I'm excited to try Teppan Edo now, since we moved the ADR! And I'm happy we don't have to wait til the end of our trip to see Illuminations! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I will probably have to use care credit when I get this stupid crown. I'm SO sick of my teeth problems!!! :rotfl:

Lol...thanks Dr. Joni! I will definitely be doing all those things...I've already decided that other than working this week, I'm doing NOTHING! :rotfl: I want to make sure I'm 100% by the time I get on that plane on Friday!:goodvibes

I know, isn't it crazy! I can't believe my trip is almost here!!!

I'm happy to hear you liked POR! I've been reading a lot of negative things about it lately, and I was starting to get nervous...a lot of people are saying it's run down and the rooms are dirty and moldy and that would be kind of gross, but I guess if I get a room like that, I will just ask for a new one! I'm hoping to be in Oak Manor as well! Did you see any snakes while you were there? Did you use the water taxi to go to DTD at all? :yay:

Thanks, I feel almost back to my normal self! Now I think I just feel crappy from the antibiotics I'm taking but they are over tomorrow and then I will really feel better! :thumbsup2

Are you writing a TR? Hope so! :surfweb:

Our room was definitely not dirty or moldy. Only negative was really our mousekeeper. She never would put a liner in the ice bucket, which isn't the worst thing. We had gallon ziplocs, so I just used one to line it, but that was the only bad part.

We never saw any snakes, but I did hear something in the landscaping while we were walking by the pool. I did tell the kids to make sure to stay in the middle of the walkway. Later by our room, we saw a little rabbit, so it could have been another rabbit I heard in the landscaping. Not sure, but better safe than sorry if you ask me.

Didn't take the boat to DTD. Really wanted to, but the only time we went was before going to Universal.

I should be starting a tr soon. Still trying to catch up a bit more on everyone else's threads. I will let you know when I do. Glad you are feeling better! Oh, and now you can officially say you are going to WDW this week!!!!!

Yay glad to hear all the positive things about POR! :thumbsup2 I'm happy you didn't see any snakes! I'll be thrilled if I see bunnies!

I would like to take the boat to DTD at least once, but I've heard it can be a long wait to get back to the resort late at night, so if I do, it will be during the day.

I'm so excited that we're going at the end of the week! Only 3 days of work this week! :woohoo: Can't wait to read your TR once you start!

Jen, how are you feeling today?

I'm much better, thanks! :goodvibes The only thing really bothering me now is my stomach, which I know is a side effect of the antibiotics, so once I finish them up tomorrow I should be ok. I'm still coughing a little, but it's not as bad as it has been the past few days. I should be ready to go by Friday! :thumbsup2
