? on using Walgreens coupons

I have always been a couponer, however I am trying very hard to really coupon to save some $. My question is this. I know that you can use a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon, but at Walgreens when they have a coupon, for instance like starting today. Walgreens offer buy xx for $, not so much a .30 off. Example, dawn dishsoap for .99, and I have a manufacturer coupon for .20 off, so can I use both and get the dawn for .79?

Yes, but at Walgreen's they have a rule that you cannot have more coupons than you have items -- I'm pretty sure that counts for both store and mfr. coupons, so you would have to add more items to your order (at least 1 more item to purchase 1 bottle with 2 coupons) to be able to do that.

The 2nd poster is incorrect that store coupons count towards your coupon count - only mfr's coupons count. Note that if the mfr coupon is $x/2, then that coupon counts towards two items.

Also keep in mind that if you use a RR that also counts as a mfg. coupon so you couldn't use it plus another mfg. coupon on one item.

Thanks - couldn't remember and that has only happened once - to my husband - he didn't think of adding something small to the order to bring up his total # of items.

But I know I have used mfr coupons and RRs (the ones that are like $2 off your next order) on the same shopping trip - the only stipulation I understood about those was that if you had (for example) a P&G sponsored RR, that you couldn't use it to buy P&G products. That has only come up on one shopping trip I had to Walgreen's though because usually I have many items from all different manufacturers (this was in response to shipoohowner's comment).

I hate all the rules at Walgreen's but we get such good deals there, and luckily I don't run into any of these issues very often. Generally, I dump all my stuff on the counter, and then hand over all my coupons and RRs and don't really have any problems.

Walgreens is one of my favorite places to shop. "rolling" rr's is the best way to pay very very little out of pocket. previous people are correct in # of coupons must not exceed # of items (amount does not matter, item can be 5 cents) rr's (register reward) do count as a manufacturer coupon. You do have to go to a walgreens with patient cashiers....since often, in order to really roll right...you have to have multiple transactions. I went yesterday (they are use to me there having as many as 9 transactions) this time the cashier was so relieved that I only had 2.
