On Veteran's Day please explain to your children what this solomn day is for.Don't assume your child's school is discussing it.We found out some of our children's teachers weren't even mentioning it.My husband and I made our feelings known to the principal.I know here the schools are very inconsistant with teaching about Veteran's Day.I vowed I would not allow this to happen in my little corner of the world.I am a Girl Scout leader and each year my troop writes thank you notes and send them down to the VA hospital.This year we sent along fleece lap blankets the girls made.We have a wonderful discussion on liberty,freedom and the brave men and women who have made it possible.
