On the Western Fantasy 10/11/14

Hi!!

We are booked on this cruise so I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Viviana and my husband and I will be taking our two little guys on our 2nd cruise. I can't wait to hear more about this whole process and finally set sail! I am so excited! :)

Just popping in to say hello. We are currently booked on the Aug 31st sailing this summer, and will be booking for Oct 11 2014 while on board. :goodvibes This Aug will be our 5th Disney cruise, 1st one on the Fantasy all the others were on the Magic. We have also sailed Carnival and RCCL in the past. :scared: Sailing will be me Rebecca and oh my gosh July of 2014 I will turn 50 :faint:, DH Earl who will be 49 in June of 2014, and we have 5 kids. Oldest DD will be almost 32 when we sail, yes I was a teenage Mom. She has two kids a dd who is 6 and a ds who is 3 and she is due with another dd this Sept. Our other DD's are Jennah who will be 18 in July of 2014, Macy will be just shy of 16 [Dec of 2014] and our twin DS's will be 13. We have never been to San Juan so that will be new. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to get to know all of you. Happy Wednesday!! :cutie:

I think we will be joining you on this cruise. Just waiting to hear from my sister to make sure the dates work for her.

It will be myself Tracy, DH Jay, and DD Georgia who will be 9 for this cruise. I have finally managed to talk some of our family into coming with us. My parents, sister, BIL and their 3 kids. :cool1: The dates work well for us because it will fall over Thanksgiving in Canada one less day to take off work :)

We will be on the EBTA before this cruise in May 2014.

Just a quick :welcome: to the newbies. Been away for the weekend and super busy today. Will have more time tomorrow. I think:lmao:

Alrighty then:cool1:

All newcomers have been added to the Roll Call in the first post. There is a link there where you can submit any info that you know now for our Google Spreadsheet.

And the link to our FB group is there as well.

Since the sentence in my second post was unimportant I have now reserved for the future Fish Extender exchange. There have been rumblings but no volunteer to run it as yet.

So jump in and enjoy:)

Hello everybody, we put a deposit on this cruise a couple of weeks ago when we were on the Magic. This will be our 2nd Disney cruise and even though we just got home, we are already excited about seeing the Fantasy.

I had one question to those of you have cruised Disney in October. Do you think there will be a Halloween party on this cruise? I saw a navigator for a cruise during Halloween week that did have one, just wasn't sure about the other cruises in October.

Thanks!

Welcome! This cruise will be our 6th, but the first time on the new ships, and it has been a WHILE since we have been on DCL!

Our last cruise (the Magic in 2005) was in October, and they didn't do anything for Halloween since Halloween didn't fall on our cruise week. Granted, that was a while ago and things might have changed, but I've never heard of anything!

I doubt there will be any Halloween celebration on this cruise. We did the Halloween cruise on the Fantasy last year. It was only our cruise and the one one before ours that had Halloween events.

:welcome: aboard :cool1:

Halloween parties on DCL are just for the actual date or week of sailing. I've cruised during this week before and there was no mention at all of Halloween. And I have heard from friends who have sailed on the 31st, that there really is very little celebration. A trick or treat for the kids and that's it.

Actually there was no trick or treat for the kids last year on the Fantasy.

There was a family party that took place before the all aboard, a dance party for kids, a costume contest for adults, and a Halloween dance party for adults. I wouldn't go out of my way to do a Halloween cruise again. It was definitely underwhelming.

Things have changed then. My friends sailed the magic on Halloween several years ago and when my sister was pushing for a Halloween cruise this year he told me about his. But underwhelming was his word too. So we're on this 1:lmao:

My sister thought it would be lots of fun, but she lives in Rehoboth beach with the Sea Witch Festival. What could possibly top that:confused3

I still think it was fun, but if you are expecting a huge Halloween extravaganza, you will be disappointed (I may have been someone expecting the extravaganza;):rotfl:)

The Sea Witch festival sounds like fun!

This cruise and the Halloween cruise were the ones I suggested to my sister. She picked this one because it is one less day off of work.

Thanks everyone for the information, I'm glad I know what to expect. It isn't too big of a deal either way, we will just be thrilled to be there.

Oh it is. Its a whole weekend festival the last weekend of Oct. There are so many activities. Costume contests, scavenger hunts, parades...... I really need to get back there for it, its been awhile since i have been able to go. Honestly, anything any cruise line does for Halloween would never equal the Sea Witch festival.
