The reason for the unusual loop? The atmospheric trough that was expected to pull Matthew up the coast is further north and weaker than originally thought. As Matthew tries to push eastward (out-to-sea), it encounters newly named Tropical Storm Nicole. Matthew then will have nowhere else to go but back to the southwest, toward the Bahamas again.

Yep. 1 model showed the loop last night. This morning 3 are showing it. We watch Wunderground for all updates online.

Ok...with all due respect, we are fairly intelligent people with a good dose of common sense. Of course we would not drive through a Cat 4 hurricane. We'd stay on Disney property, and make the best of it. The contingency plans we outlined were in the event the storm passed through PC, but the Dream was not able to dock. I also have full faith and confidence that DCL holds our safety as top priority.

Those of us that are sailing on Friday are trying to plan for multiple case scenarios IF the conditions allow us to depart (even from another port). Let's not jump to ridiculous conclusions

Thank you to the poster who posted the loop de loop map. The tv station I have have on here in central FL has not shown that or talked about it. The thought that the storm could visit us twice ......ugh....

Excuse me if I'm a little more concerned for the well-being of my sister who WORKS on the ships as well as the rest of the crew of EVERY ship out there (as well as the people in the direct path of the storm). I'm glad they're taking the time to figure out how to best keep everyone safe than putting out information a little at a time about vacation plans.

Dug720 no one is saying they don't care about your sister or the other staff and crew members. We all hope no matter what any company decides to do that the safety of those who MUST be in the way of the storm are taken care of first and foremost. The concern is that plans must now be changed to get everyone out of the way of this storm. We all want communication verifying that both those who are already in it AND those who are still expected to travel INTO this storm by these companies are kept safe.

The thing is they're are catastrophe's, natural disasters, war, disease etc etc etc going on all the time all over the world. It's not that people don't care about the people that lost everything in the hurricane, but this is a Disney cruise line board where people come to discuss cruises...and as some like to put it first world problems. My church has supported Haiti for years and we make donations all the time, but that doesn't mean I still wouldn't be upset about my cruise being ruined. I'm sure there are message boards to discuss the world problems and how to fix them, but this is cruise line board where people come to vent and discuss cruising.
